brake squeek help please

ok so i have an annoying squeek from my rear brakes. its only makes the noise when im not using the brakes,as soon as i touch the brakes its stops. ive chamfered the pads,greased everything and i still makes this noise. i noticed that there are no shims, do our cars have shims?

have you checked to see if the little clips holding the pad in might be rubbing on the rotor? I just did my moms brakes and had to take the wheel back off because i didnt check those and they were rubbing the rotor.

cheap parts store pads can do this.

or it could just be pad material, iw ork for chrysler and alot of their pads have a high metallic content which causes them to be noisy after cold damp nights, rain or even just sitting and cooling down. a sharp metallic piece will contact the rotor while driving and then once you apply the brakes it will go away useually....

the squeek is the all the time no matter what weather. i greases the clips too. nothing seems to help

could just be a shit part of the pad like a rough surface, drive it for 1,000 miles and see what happens

its been doing this since february lol for a min i thougt it might be a wheel bearing or axle but it stops even if i just lightly touch the brake??
