My mechanic suggested I replace this piece. He speaks Spanish only therefore can?t tell me what it is. My car is a 95 GT. The piece I am talking about is below the master cylinder.

Thanks in advance
Steve

You need to host the pic on another website then link to it

I usually upload to photobucket since it's free

My front driver?s side and the rear passenger side brake pads are wearing out a lot faster then the others. My mechanic explained it to me but could translate the name to this part.

Sounds more like calipers seizing up to me. The RR caliper could just need the slide pins cleaned/greased.
Proportioning valves are pretty much trouble free. I would find an english speaking mechanic.

The guy is really good at what he dose and is very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Has nothing to do with him speaking Spanish. Thanks for your opinion. Would anyone know where I can purchase that piece?

Im pretty sure this pendejo is taking you for a ride. you need to get your car away from his as soon as possible.

the rear brakes (both left and right) are both fed by a single pressure line to the rear of the car. There is a rubber line that runs from the body to the top of the axle. So him telling you that the prop valve is causing ONE of your rear calipers to work harder than the other... complete bullshit

before you go and replace the proportioning valve just have him check out up slidepins, it will only take 20 min and could save you alot of time/money. ive seen tons of cars come into my shop with dry slidepins and on set of pads wearing alot faster due to it. some mechanics are in a rush or too lazy to grease the slidepins.

I would say that's 100% bull crap you need a 2nd opinion. Addermk2 is right there is only one line feeding the rear brakes so how would the propotioning valve in the front of the car effect only one side in the rear?
