I have seen people at car shows and stuff with a build certificate from ford. I also know that people have emailed or wrote ford and got their build specs. I'm wanting the build number(like saleens have on the front bumper) so i can get the vinyls numbers. ANyway, so does anyone know how to get the build number and date and all that from ford?

i found a sticker under the shifter bezel that says "all tests passed 11/7/97 at 7:23 am" since my door sticker says my car was manufactured in november 97, and it doesnt take more than a few hours for a car to assembled, i am going to assume this was the build date

some body correct me if i am wrong :dontknow:

you can mail Ford with your VIN asking for a copy of the original invoice. it will show all the options etc.
you have to physically mail a piece of paper, and include your VIN and Email address that you want it sent to. it comes in a PDF file. it also takes around 3 weeks.

here is the address to mail to:
Ford Motor Company
North American Sales Accounting-Vehicle Invoicing
P.0. Box 6235 Ste. 2-098
Fairlane Office Center
Dearborn MI
48126

i had mine done a while ago. pretty neat to see everything layed out

248A is option delete not an option and it came in various configurations. Like some have a rear spoiler and some have fogs and some have power windows... its all in how it was ordered.

If you have cloth and roll up windows and it came with 16" wheels and your not driving a V6 then you have a 248A option delete car.

I doubt those invoice lists will show 248A on it. Invoices show the basic package plus options in single or package form with costs/discounts. 248A is just a base mustang V8 so it should just have an invoice void of addition options.

248A is something that would be checked off by the dealer or customer at dealership ordering the car. They fill out the preference sheet and it goes to the factory to be built.

The only place i can see "248A option delete package" being written in on the Window Sticker.

Yeah i guess if your not an original owner stuff like that is cool. I still have the Window Sticker and sale papers etc and being in car sales i've had 10,000 of those general invoice papers in my hand :) I usually throw the printouts in the customers file so they know all the option codes on their cars incase they want to order other things.
