LoweredGT1.jpg

as you can see in this pic after i lowered my car with the H&Rs, my front two wheels seem to lean into the car quite a bit. I know this isnt going to be good for my tires at all and will eat them up much faster than normal. so i went to a shop to get an alignment and they said with the stock plates now i dont have enough settings to get an alignment. Ive never heard of this beforehand and am kinda pissed cause i dont wanna spend any more money on my car right now. But i have to buy some caster/camber plates now so what do you guys recommend as far as brand and website??? like i said, im already kinda pissed i have to buy these so im hoping i can find them fairly cheap...

What did you expect? You lowered your car 2". Of course you're going to need c/c plates. Get yourself some maximum motorsport plates. I have those and they were easy to install.

Did they tell you what the camber was? Camber doesn't eat tires as much as people think and you can get away with pretty aggressive camber without really tearing up your tires as long as your toe was adjusted.

Your car will be able to drive straight and not pull left or right, but most people experience uneven tire wear with a drop of more than an inch. I would go for the Maximum Motorsport CC plates. You can get them a tad cheaper and free shipping from atomicperformance.com

you can get by for a while without the cc's. Keep a close eye on the insides of the tread as that is where it'll wear first.
My wheels look like yours with the camber off some. no steering issues. but the tires do wear some.

just because your car drives straight does not mean the toe is in spec. My car was toed out and still tracked and drove straight.

Did the shop set the front toe, or did they not touch it at all?
If they didn't touch it yet, and you don't want to spend the extra coin to get c/c plates, then shop around and see if
some place will perform a "front toe set", considering that would be the only thing adjustable on your car without c/c plates..
It's usually cheaper than a standard align. (Firestone one time align is $79, front toe set is $39).
But getting the c/c plates would be recommended, that way you have piece of mind that your tires won't wear out faster
than expected, and if that happens, then you will have to spend more money on your car replacing tires sooner, then having
c/c plates to correct the problem.

your going to spend more on buying new tires then you would if you just got a set of cc plates.

Maximum motorsport 4 bolt, realignment /tire issues.

Mine are not that bad but they are not 100% in spec either but I have a set of CC plates going on soon. MM of course.

MM is the best way to go. A friend of mine had Steeda and the strut went through his hood after the bearing in the cc plate failed.
MM is top notch.

1 more option though. You can actually drill out the rivets on the OEM plates, and this will give the shop more adjustment to play with.

Does anyone know what is the proper amount of spacers to put on the mm c/c plates for h&r super sport springs? I was reading the directions and was confused on this part because it was recommend to have 1 short spacer above the plate, and 2 long spacers under the plate. I'm just not quite sure.

Yeah my friend that works at a dealership says he normally can take a stang that has been lowered and not have to use CC plates if he drills the rivets out.

I had a set of CC plates on my 01, just for the adjustability of alignment, and I rock a set on my 05 as well... you can tell if you look close enough...

Would not go with anybody other than Maximum Motorsports though... I represent them in my sig for a reason...
