......I love that awesome idle sound of the cams.. can you tell me the pros and cons of cams like the stangs got in the video?

at the moment I dont know the specs.. but its possible to have cams like the stang got for my car (1998 3.8v6 auto) - without modding anything else (I just have a mac catback)?

and how much for these things, where to get??

You only need cam, singular, not cams, plural like the cool modular kids :thumb:

But, a cam generally gives up low speed power, and driveability in favor of high end power. But you can slide a cam in with no other changes just fine, although if you go too radical, tuning will be needed

Well, I have never had a six, but if I knew more about your car, I could tell you more. Are you just after the cool idle sound? Drive it daily? Auto or five speed?

yeah, the hp output of my car is enough for my daily use ...more hp is always good - but in my case not my goal.. just want it because that idle sound :rolleyes2: :naughty:

Well, it look's like the stock LSA on your cam is 114, tightening it to 110 will give you some lumpiness, but may cause it to idle roughly. I would call the guy's at supersix I think? Or cliffords and see what they recomend for you.

The sound comes from the lsa of the cam though, tighter it is, the lumpier the idle, it also makes for a narrower powerband.

i know him from another site im on... if i remember right he said hes running the 218/224 duration cam.. hes also got a M112 bolted under that hood...

ya mysteed's car was pretty cool to see. I met him at the 07 v6 challenge in GA. Since then he has wrecked the car and i believe he has something else up his sleeve for the future. Anyway the cam the i have in my car right now is a 218/224 duration .55/.55 lift and 112 lobe sep. its a pretty good cam and sound good at idle. i think that after a while of running my setup at 15#s of boost i will get a more aggressive cam.
