What's the difference on a 01 GT 4.6L out of a Saleen with individual Cam caps versus an 02 GT 4.6L with the girdle? Is it just the Romeo vs. Windsor thing? I thought the 01 GT would have a Romeo motor?

Here's what I'm talking about:

Girdle

Individual Cam caps:

Yes romeo vs windsor. The 01 could be early production or could have a late production windsor engine in it. Then there is always the chance that its not original.

My father preordered an 01 with the premium package (to get the bullitt wheels). There was quite a delay in it arriving, attributed to a run of v6 cars being done first while the engine plant in Romeo was changing over to PI specs. I've never seen an 01+ with a Windsor, and I'd imagine if it would have happened we'd probably have it. +1 on the engine swap theory. What's the door tag say for production date, and what date is on the cam covers?

It's a good possibility it's a swap. It's a cheap motor that looks like it's in good condition except for a possible head gasket. The video of it showed a turbo, so it's not stock. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow so I'll find out more. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's better than what I pulled out of mine. It was a mess... I was planning on rebuilding it. I have it down to the short block, but if this motor is good except for the head gasket, that'd be the way to go.
