Can some one tell what mods are worth it...

Been on the site for a week or so now, And yes I used the search button, but can you guys give me a good list of mods and a bad list of mods.
I know people have there own preference, And that is cool I wanna here from many different point of veiws. Like for instance, some people are saying that A/C delete is crap, but some do it anyway. What other mods are crap and a waste of money?

I have a 95 5.0 that I wanna throw some mods on. I just got her a month ago, with BBK shorty and intake, with MAC dump off exhaust. I'm still undecide about getting the mach 1 lip, they look a lil funny, I have to see it in person to make up my mind. Im gonna swap out my tail lights with Black tails lights from a 97. I also want the svo scoop hood and the side scoop. And maybe get side pipes.

I just bought the new 5.0 bagdes and cant wait to get them. Please any info on crapy mods will help me. Trying to save money by buying parts that will make me happy.

Best bang for buck mod is gears, 3:55, 3:73, 4:10, it depends on what you do with the car. A/C delete doesn't help much, yes it's a weight reduction but on a street car it really isn't noticeable. You can get a short shifter or maybe H/C/I (Head/Cam/Intake). Something that a lot people overlook are suspension mods, what's the point of having so much power but can't hook? There are other mods like stroking the 302, or slapping on a super/turbo charger. I think those are the most common performance mods. The exterior is entirely up to you, you can change the Lights, hood, front/rear bumper, side skirts, Wheels, and wing.

Most noticeable driving mod was the improvement from the full length frame rails..MM...& the Eibach Prokit Plus suspension...everyday fun one was the MagnaPack catback...LOVE the sound! Even with stock cats it is loud. Cobra 13" brakes & SS brake lines are not bad either. In the looks dept I think the staggered 275's on front & 315's out back on deep dish black bullitts helps a lot! And the vinyl stripes too.

When I do the engine mods it will be AFR heads, GT40 lower intake ported, & a Kenne Bell ..don't know what cam yet.

oops...completely forgot the 3:55 gears! Not installed yet but they will make it a different car for sure...our 2:73's just don't cut it! & stay with the horizontal tails!

Verticals look soooooooooooooo much better. Plus sequintials look sweet.

CAI, full exhaust, gears. best way to start. I droped egr and smog pump(u'll need a chip to keep check engine light off). Got rid of A/C to clean up engine bay (keep thinking about putting it back on).

Mach1 lips look good if you put them on right, the ends are supposed to line up with the back of the bumper, not front to front.

Why do some guys do not like doing the taillight swap. Same body stlye from 94-95 and 96-98. They both look good I just like the Verticals better. To each there own.

What does dropping the EGR and Smog pump do?
I can get a SCT flasher for my 95 GT?
MustangMoser do you have any more pics of your lip?

if you have emission testing you cant take out the smog and egr. gears and a shifter are great mods to start w ith

* Gears
* Exhaust
* Subframe connectors
* Bolt-ons
* Shifter - Stall (if Auto)
* Better brakes (13" cobra brakes") if you decide to do it, make sure you get the correct Master cilynder.
* Heads,Cam and Intake.

forget the tailights, the CAI.
removing your AC nor EGR wont increase the HP,
it will make the engine bay look better thats all.

lets not get into another taillight pissing match, lol. Getting rid of egr and smog just clean up the engine bay, gets rid of a bunch of ugly lines, but if you've got smog you cant do it. You'll have to have a chip, sct flasher wont work as there is no obdII port.

I'll go take some pics right now, post them up in a few mins

What is a good H/C/I combo, GT40 heads seem to be what guys have on this site. Ford Camshaft? trickflow intake?

The lip actually came off a used car at work. But americanmuscle has them. They list as 99-04, but they fit 94-04.

I'm running Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, TrickFlow Track Heat intake, TrickFlow stage 2 cam. GT40 is a cheap and pretty good combo. A lot of guys swear by the TrickFlow top end kit.

You need a tune regardless, but you'll HAVE to have one with a cam bigger than e-cam, steeda 19 and trickflow stage 1

i would look into the Trick Flow top end kit from Summit if your dead set on the h/c/i approach, I made 300rwhp with it, and supporting mods, of course

but..... in my experience, a blower on a stock motor will make better power than H/C/I swap on a stock shortblock with no blower. now... add both, and your looking at mid 500's rwhp....
