Well I have taken the first steps for the manual swap. I figured I would get the hardest to find parts first which are (in my mind) the bellhousing and 94/95 pedals. So I found a bellhousing on marketplace in Ohio that is being shipped, and I bought pedals on eBay this morning.

I'll have this done this year, likely before summer. Part of my motivation is I want to teach my 17 y/o daughter to drive manual.

Picked up a T5 today from a 96 V6. Not the prettiest thing but should get me going for now. When it warms up I will open it for inspection and clean it up including rust removal from the front retainer and a new rear seal. Gave $300 for it.

You are aware the V6 T5 is rated at 265 lb/ft and not 300 like the GT correct? If you are planning to make some more power, you might wanna look into a GT T5. With stock power levels it should be ok for quite a while if you don’t go crazy on it.

Yes same as fox body T5. Not too worried about it. Many a stock T5 have lived behind 400hp. I will probably put a countergear retainer in it and a new all steel front retainer just in case I get aggressive with it in the future. Or I may just send it!

A good weld fab shop capable of aluminium welding can handle repairing the bellhousing. The sn95 T5 bellhousings are few and would be worth to get repaired if you want to sell it.
Good call I wonder what that would cost?

Slight update, been driving the car a lot and its been great. It was running so good on Monday that I decided to go WOT from a stop up through the gears. Gave me a pretty lazy/slippy shift from 1-2 and I let off. Now it's holding 1st and feels like its shifting right into 3rd! I wasn't going to do the manual swap until fall/winter but I guess that just got moved up! I may drop the pan and take a look at the 1-2 Accumulator and spring but I don't plan on putting a whole lot of effort into the AODE if any at all. The only parts I am missing for the manual swap are a T4M0 computer, a clutch kit, and a flywheel.

Ordered a Baumann/US Shift AODE kit today and a few other misc parts. Feels like throwing money away since I plan to manual swap it eventually. But I just want to do it for the fun of it! I considered doing a "JMOD" but apparently this is similar- and I just want everything I need with the instructions in one box...
