Car cut off while going 50+ mph.

I have a 96 mustang gt conv 5 speed bone stock down to the filter. I was leaving school going about 50mph and the cut just cut no warning or nothing. I have about 125k miles on it and I've recently changed my battery, new fuel filter, and fuel pump to 225lph for the h/c swap I'm planning. I tried to start the car again the other day had to boost it off it started right up and died like instantly???? I tried cranking it again but the car died (battery wise) while the cables were still hooked to the other car. Anybody have any idea of what this could be? or where I should start looking that'll be greatly appreciated. Thanks

check the cables. I mean the positive and negative connectors, make sure they are good. get some terminal cleaner and clean the battery and then the terminals, and then get some tri flow and lube the cables up to help with the corroestion. Same thing happened to me with my v6.

Sounds like a cam or crank sensor.

I'm try the battery first I'm almost positive those are intact but I'm double check, I don't have anything to test for codes and the car is died in my driveway.

I checked the connectors and everything is tight and looks good. I'm completely lost on this one.

You say you recently changed the battery? Did you do it? if so any sparks or incidents to speak of?

it sounds like your battery doesnt like handling a load. but if its straight cutting out on you maybe your alternator isnt charging it?
head to an autozone and see if they can hook up the battery / alt test to give you an idea of who the culprit is

i also had a prblem close to this
died on the highway
died on startup
cranked till battery died half the time
it ended up being my IAC but thats an uber longshot
keep us posted

Another thing I forgot to mention, I cant really remember if this is normal or not or maybe I'm just freaking out so help me out. When I turn the key to on position like I'm going to start the car my oil pressure gauge doesnt move at all, and when I was trying to start the car it was all over the place.

Whats the IAC? Just had the alternator tested it was good, waiting on results from the battery now. I hope its not the fuel pump again but I just replaced it so I'm kind of thinking its not that. The last time I started it, it died almost instantly after starting and the way it died would make me think its fuel related but at the same time the car keep dying so it might be an electrical problem. Man this is killing me both stangs down for the count right now

I'm check my fuel pressure etc hopefully the new pump hasnt failed since I really didn't hear the fuel pump.

Found the problem, went back in the tank and come to find out the wires that I spliced into the new fuel pump came loose and I had to resplice them I guess I did a poor job on the install(my first time ever attempting this by the way) I made sure that I don't have a repeat of that, I shrink wrap them and zip tied them and the car fire right up with no problems drove it to work today for the first time in about month.
