So I went to work and everything was fine. Drove fine and everything... She kinda had some trouble starting this morning but we hit a small cold front so I thought it was normal. Anyway, I got off work and I went to unlock my car with my remote. Nothing happened. I then manually entered the vehicle and the first thing that caught my eye was that the dome light was not lit. So i preceded to put the key into the ignition and went to turn her over.... Nothing. Not even anything at all. So I checked my connections on the battery, the ground and the power to the fuse box. All was good. Then I decided to see if she had any spark. Now i know this isnt the best way to test it, but it was all I had. So I used a ratchet to touch the neg and possitive on the battery and nothing happend. No spark or anything....

Could this be just a bad battery or can there just be a short somewhere? The Battery is a Optima Red Top that has At least 3 years on it... Dont know since I have owned it for 3 years and It came with the battery.

the battery light will come on if the alternator isn't charging enough. maybe you left your lights on? lol idk.

it's leaking somewhere or it coudl just be time for a new battery.

Hmmmmm I was gonna tell you dont waste yer money on that lol. Optima suks. I had them in my boat and car. 3 in my boat. 2 for the trollin motor and a starting battery. In 2 yrs they were trash. And when they go there is no warning. They just die. I had one in my stang. Same thing 2 yrs dead. I put duracells in everything now. last just as long but cost 1/4 the price. Oh and the 27's are 3 lbs heavier than a 27 duralast however small they look.

I buy my batteries at Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart batteries are made for them by Deka (East Penn Manufacturing).

i like my red top, i think ima get a 200amp alternator soon though cause my system drains it a lot and the battery gauge says its charging between the N and O on normal when im bumpin the system. if i leave the car off with my DVD player on, it will die. it has never done it on my cobra but my last truck, my dvd player would kill the battery quick. i was playing xbox on it though which may have helped drain it lol.
