Ok. Only problems I know the car has is my CEL which is about the cats, and the ABS light is on now and im unsure why as brakes seem to be working properly, fluids are ok and fuses are ok. So might be a bad sensor.

Well yesterday I went out with my buddy after he got back from dynoing his '12 335i. He put down 405hp/440tq out of a mustang dyno. So far there are other people with the same car and more mods that dont put out that kind of power, so its pretty cool.

Either way we went out for a while and did some hard driving. On my way home we did another pull on the highway. I shifted the car and it died. All the power stayed on, gauges read normal(for how good they can read). But pressing the gas pedal did NOTHING! It didnt do a damn thing at all. Then it finally kicked back in and gave me no more issues on the way home.

Anyone ever experience this or have seen it happen? Im kinda lost here as to what the hell happened. If it was the fuel pump I should have lost power to everything, but I didnt.

Need some help here guys!

Have your alternator and battery tested. A failing alternator can cause weird shit sometimes. Plus its free so you're not out anything.

Did the car idle still, or did it shut off? Maybe your throttle cable is stretched and it wanted to stay closed or something?

Refesh my memory. what engine do you have.
If it's a 5.0, sounds like a dizzy problem. Mod motor, IDK.

Car still had power and was still running.. Didnt die completely. I thought I snapped my throttle cable but it was fine. It does look loose lately or something..

I did also think it could have gotten stuck on my hood. But im not sure.

I was just saying it could have been the opposite case, not saying it was the same as mine ha, sorry for not being more clear.

thing's I'd check:

TPS (and voltage)
Throttle cable (is it stretching?)

after that point, do you have an auto or 5spd?

How did it perform when stomping the pedal with no response? if the power wasnt going to the transmission somehow (IE: the RPMs were steady) I would imaging it was running uber lean (as the throttle plate was open). .. .. i dono. very strange.
