My car seems to puffing when its idling. What usually cause that? Car has a brand new tune up and timing is at 12 degrees. Will mis-adjusted valves be a possible cuplrit for this? I'm still rumming the stock e7s and its valvetrain by the way. It does this more on the passenger and sounds like a misfire but like I said car has a new tune up. What other things can I look at? Thanks guys

well i guess the correct term is misfire. instead of a constat even combustion comming out of the exhaust there is like a misfire inbetween. i said puff because thats what it sounds like.

I C was it doing it before the tune up? or did it start afterwards? it could be a broken plug, or the wire boot isn't all the way seated

Things to check are is the MAF clean, vacum leaks, TPS sensor good? Idle control valve good and voltage to it is correct. It could be a number of things. Check your pushrods, one could be bent and you not know it. Can you post up a video of the engine running and where the sound is coming from and maybe someone here can be more precise.

It was doing it before the tune up, MAF was just clean, no vaccum leaks. TPS is at .99 IAC should be good but will check volts on it tomorrow. A guy on the corral referred to the sound as blowby caused by a bent valve or worn compression rings.

did you disconnect the battery for longer than 30 seconds? If you did, that could of reset the computer, and now your pcm might be relearning the idle. Any codes? What's the fuel pressure? Air fuel ratio?

Or

Is it the passenger side? Could be the egr....
