I know I've been gone a while. I've had a lot of things going on with work, family and school. I just got back to workin on my car. So my car has been sitting for about a month now without a battery (had to loan it to my girl). So I finally got a battert for it today and installed it. All my lights and everything came on, but when I tried to start it, nothing. No attempt to turn over or anything. Any info? Could it be the starter? I'm lost. Brand new alternator BTW.

Thanks in advance,
Cobra.

ck the fuses and then ck the starter.
Do your headlights dim when trying to start the car? If yes, then you know the starter is getting pwr but not moving.
If you have a wood bat or a dead blow hammer, give your starter a couple of whacks to maybe knock the armature loose.
If lights don't dim, look into the starter relay to make sure it's getting power

do you have +12V power at the starter on the main lead?
do you have it at the trigger wire when you turn the key to the start position?

Hey guys, I just looked at it and heres whats going on:

At first we tapped the started with a pipe and it started. Than I tried to starting it about an hour later and it wouldnt start even when we tapped it. So I held the key to start it and my dad pressed down the starter slightly and it started... Any input?

BTW: It felt sooooo good hearing my car start up again :)

sounds like a bad ground where the starter is bolted to the engine. Pull it off, have it tested while it's out and clean the mating surface.
ck your battery cables real good too.
