Man... you guys burst this guy's bubble! :sad5:

But hey, sometimes the truth hurts. At least he's forewarned about the quality of paint that he'll get for that money. :evil5:

I would expect to pay $300 for just my bumper painted.

whats wrong with that? id rather find out about it ahead of time, than to have the car painted, and find out they just made it worse.

Nothing's wrong with that. Just saying, his bubble is probably burst now...

I think you guy's are missing the point, it's not about Maaco per se and whether or not they CAN do a good job, it's about whether or not anyone can do a good job for 300 bucks, and they can.

I've had thing's painted at a few Maaco's before I did it myself, and explained just what I wanted, paid 1800 bucks, and got a normal paint job

I'm not saying that its impossible for a Maaco to put out good results. But on average, most Maaco and other shops like it don't have a good reputation for quality overall. I considered it for my Bronco heavily... Like I said, my mom had a client get her van painted and it looked good for awhile. But it didn't last long and they didn't go the cheapest route. I believe they payed around maybe ~$900 and it just didnt last at all. Too me, that's way too much money to throw away for a year of nice paint, hell $275 is too much. That's why I'm saving up $4k. A couple very nice and reputable shops have quoted me that for sanding my car down completely and primer and a two-stage paint. If I have to spend money, its going to be for something that'll last. He would be completely unhappy with a $300 paintjob.

My top choice was black, if not black, pearl white. But I just found out they do metallic for same price, probably going to get dark blue. Im pumped.

I really aint worried about door jams. My buddy had his crx done white from them turned out great, if I wasn't in it all the time I would have never noticed the door jams.

I'd be surprised if they mask off anything on the car for $300...lol. Def interested to see how it turns out. For that price don't get your hopes up but we'll see. I hear their paint work isn't all that bad but its the prep that they half ass. The bad thing about it is that prep work is everything in a good paint job.

my friend took his car to them... he sanded it himself, masked off the lights himself, and all that was left was them masking the windows, mirros, and wheels... they didnt mess that up. lol... tunred out pretty good... for $400 anyways. (thats what he paid.)

i had a 2nd friend who's sister took her car. not only did they F* her paint up, they also stole her 10" sub and her CDs out of her trunk.... :)

It's hilarious, they tape the windows off with newspaper, scuff it, and shoot it. So it bleeds through on to the windows, they generally get overspray on the tires and wheels, and there's sharp lines everywhere they paint.

I don't see how anyone can complain for 300 bucks though.
