So i have decieded that barely making 300hp (if that) will not do it for my 1995 build. Its really bothered me that my old 2003 mach 1 made that STOCK (yes i know its a 4v). Ive changed my mind I think every week about what I want to do too the car. Going from a 4 bolt main 351, 306, and 331. I think I have my mind set on a 347 stroker kit.... I can get some really good deals on a forged crank and rods. Ive also decieded im going to get a TKO 500 or 600 or also a tremec. I just want to have a decent car that makes decent power and has the best of the best parts. I cant stand cars that are half assed and I feel like thats what i have been doing to this build. I dont want to make tons of power because thats what i have the cobra for..

Do you plan to add a supercharger or turbo?

if i did add forced induction at one point it would be a s-trim or maybe go big and put a d1 procharger or f1... but that wouldnt be for a LONG TIME. I would take the whole car apart again at that point and put a 418 windsor on it. I need to finish the cobra first but the 95 needs stuff now!

Yeah if you're not half-assing it I'm not sure why you'd put 165s on a 347. But then again if you don't need to make tons of power whats wrong with 300?

i dont know... I know its weird but it really rubs me the wrong way that a stock mach1 made that and i have TONS of money already in my 95 and it will barely be pushing that

I already have all that. I have AFR165 heads, already been machined and I have a edelbrock intake

Sell the heads and upgrade to the 185s....not worth building a stroker and putting tiny heads on it. If you plan to go boost skip the stock block and grab a dart, boss or A4 or slap the 165s on what you have now with an S-trim. Whatever you do dont waist your time or money on a stock block stroker, completely useless..

if i did put a blower on it i 100% agree! as for selling the heads, i guess thats what ill do. they will only choke the engine down.

If your block(compression test) says you're good, I say put on what you have and see where you end up power wise and then decide if you need to go a little or a lot bigger or start selling what you have to go bigger. 347 with afr 185s and your edelbrock should push close to 300 rwhp with the right cam and compression choice yet good for a ysi later to hit 600.

347 with 185s, intake and cam will make more than 300rwhp lol. 300rwhp with a 4v vs. a HCI 302 is a huge difference, I've owned both, but they are 2 very different experiances. The HCI 302 was a blast to drive around town, very torquey and was a fun little street car. My Mach 1 is still very fun to drive, but power comes in at much higher rpms, 4.10s help to compensate for that but the 302 was still the more "interesting" experience. Personally, I'd go with a mild HCI 393w stroker, those make really good numbers! That or a HCI 302 with a small blower :).
