I loved my old mach1! and like you said the 4.10s woke it up! i was very impressed but how little it takes to make that car like that. I beat a 6.0 tran am with full exhaust and a cam doing a 20 roll spinning the whole time. beat him by two cars LMAO he was sooo pissed.... i hope my 95 will be just a fun :)

My car is bolt ons and running in the 12s with full interior, a/c, naturally aspirated and a smooth idle. The one thing about my old 5.0L I miss is that lumpy idle, sounds sooo badass, but I like the sleeper sound/look of my Mach. Only mods my car has right now is CAI, canned tune,4.10s, longtubes, mid pipe, catback, and if you want to consider it a mod, slicks.

Are you set on a stroker build? I think just putting on the 165's with the intake and maybe a cam on your stock engine along with an s-trim would make more than enough power

If your block(compression test) says you're good, I say put on what you have and see where you end up power wise and then decide if you need to go a little or a lot bigger or start selling what you have to go bigger. 347 with afr 185s and your edelbrock should push close to 300 rwhp with the right cam and compression choice yet good for a ysi later to hit 600.

i agree ^^

From your post, I have no clue what you do with the car, or what your HP goals are.

I can add that I would in no way go with a 347. The sideloads are just too much for the 302 block. Specialy if you're spinning it. If you want to put 347 badges on your car and drive it to Burger King once a week, yea, it will last. But if you actualy use that power, it will not hold up. Seen it many times with my drag racing friends, lifespan of a beat 347 sucks. Take the next step and go 351, it will take the abuse, and won't cost much more to build. If you want to stroke a 302, I think a 331 wou be the way to go.

I would probably just go turbo or S/C and don't look back. You can allways build a better longblock later, and with boost it just multiplies. I had a P600B ProCharger on my 86 Saleen years back. It was a E7 headed bolt on motor, 3:08 gears still managed high 12s/low 13s in Denver altitude. But man, on the highway, you drop to 3rd gear at 55mph it would spin the drag radials and feel like a sledgehammer hit you in the seat, that 170MPH speedo would see tripple digits within 5 seconds. It was a rush.

I do the same thing to my 95. If i wasnt on a time and budget issue i would have went 408 and called it good till i get a 03 :) If i could add anything right now i would say a 331-347 for some fun, get it all said and done tuned right and youll be more then happy with the torque that the pushrod gives compaired to the mods. If you keep thinking about it too much before you know it youll have new heads new block new blah blah blah.. Then the $$$ keeps going up. Do a simple vortech on it if you want more power later and heck even getting used isnt bad for about 2k.

Whats really nice though would make the engine look like a piece of art all nice and pretty.
:( how i wish my engine bay looked as nice as a few peoples here.

I dont get it. 300hp aint enough but the Cobra that has (IIRC) 500 is too much?
