I have my grandfather's tools that are 60+ years old. He never cleaned them, my father didn't either and I don't. they work now I'm sure they will continue too
I knew there would be someone on the site that don't clean there tools...:)...and that's not a bad thing..but I would like to ask you..Why not clean them?...I know everyone has there own views...that's what make us human.. I'm just curious on your view to try to get a better understanding of others.

maybe if I get something sticky on them I will but otherwise I would have to say that regularly cleaning them would be a bit on the OCD side and would certainly have earned anyone that did it in a shop I had worked in with some kind of nick name they probably did not want. I too have some that were my grandfathers and I guess the closest I have come would be to mayge spray some WD40 on them to prevent rust but otherwise its never occured to me even wnen I was buying snap-on tools.

Yeah I mean I don't sit there and detail every tool lol but if there all greasy I'll wipe them up. Generally I use my shirt or pants while I'm usin my tools and give them the quick wipe. Tools don't really get super dirty I've noticed... Not unless you like drop it into a bucket of old oil

Wipe 'em down when they get dirty or oily, but they've never seen a bath of any kind.

Just don't see a reason to. It's not silverware, unless you display them in a case or something.
