Almost crashed The Ghost today. and it would have been completely my fault.
so im comming home from work and im on a two lane road. kind of a lot of traffic for 3 PM, but not terrible, but this is a pretty busy road anyway and its like the only road in my town thats not under construction. on either side theres neighborhoods.
so im drivin along, and theres a person directly in front of me and directly beside me. i hate putting myself in those situations in the first place, and theyre almost always going WAY too slow when that happens.
so eventually i get pissed and wait for an opportunity to floss between em. so my opportunity comes, and i drop a gear and goose it. 1/3 of a second later, the two people in front of THOSE two people decide they both want to turn. one turning right, one left into the neighborhoods
well, fuck.
i slam the brakes immediately, and the dbag turning right stops completely. on a busy street, with me comming up behind him at 50 mph. i switched lanes and skidded to a halt behind the person turning left, who is also stopped (like i said, busy street). i stopped like a foot from this car. i hear a higher picthed squeal, and ONE of the two people i just cut off is angled behind me, about 6 inches from my bumper. at first i thought he hit me, but there was no "thud" so i just shrugged it off.
everything is ok, and thank God for HP Streets, but im still a little shaky.

My opinion: You should never try to floss a Cobra. For the car's sake.

one more foot, and i'm sure you would have regretted putting in that steering wheel with no airbag.

You live and you learn. Getting impatient on the street normally only leads to problems down the road. Trust me i have been there.

for the time being, youre right. 4pt harnesses are next so i'll be good then
if anything i would regret not being patient and following behind asian grandma driving 15 under with her blinker on

Not sure what state your in, but Im fairly certain a 4pt/5pt+ harness is illegal for street use. Why no air bag anyways?

Hope youre planning on installing a harness bar and all teh right stuff for it too. Pretty sure harnesses improperly installed can hurt you in an accident.

^install it right. problem solved.
if the harness bar is installed below the shoulder, even like an inch, youre right. the force of you going forward/up and the harness staying put can have nasty effects on your spine

no airbag for several reasons. dont like the stock wheel especially with the racing seats, changing interior to black (i.e. why spend like $200 on a part i dont want?), and ive seen airbags mutilate people while the ppl in the back seats had a few bumps and bruises, weight...
im really not too worried about it being illegal. our vehicle laws are extremely loose. we dont even have dB limits or emissions testing. and in general, if youre not endangering other ppl on the road, cops dont care. ive never even seen anyone get a seat belt ticket.
hey, doesnt hurt me if your face is splattered across my window. im just gonna take $7 out of your wallet for a car wash
