clutch makes popping sound..

So Christmas eve, i was driving home, trying to get there before santa came, and my clutch started making a popping sound when its being depressed. It doesn't do it every time, only about 1/3 of the time, but its annoying.

Its a SPEC stage 1, with all new bearing and stuff, and was replaced a little over a year ago, any body know what it could be? Im putting in a new tranny soon, so what should i look for?

The first thing I would check is your clutch cable, especially if you have an aftermarket quadrant. Ensure it is it pulling correctly, is correctly seated in the quadrant, and is not binding anywhere.

Alright, it could be the cable, its factory but maybe its stretched.

Mine has been doing the same thing with the stock quad. Then I got a good deal on an after market quad. and firewall adj. instolled it all and it still does the popping sound. So I'm still looking.
