An R is an investment, the people buying them are not going to drive them. In another 10 years they can get there money back. It's one of only a few modern cars that you can buy as an investment and not a money pit.

im sure a regular Cobra will be a classic one day. the thing is, i bought the car so i could drive the hell out of it, not as an investment. so ima drive it like i stole it and keep throwing new parts on it. if im ever trying to sell this car, something went horribly, horribly wrong.

It's one of those things wheresomeone wanted one their whole lives and are in a situation where money isn't that important, but fulfilling a dream is worth the 20k.

Yeah, ticks me off when when I see them at shows. The last car show I went to, there were TWO 95 cobra Rs, one 2000 Cobra R and one 94 indy cobra. Theyre not special in my opinion. Ford has made so many "special editions" that everyone has a "rare mustang." At this very same show, I saw a GTS (yeah, but at least he drives it) a bluebonnet edition (TX special) and tons of shelbys, bullitts, saleens, and roushes of different generations. At the end of the day, its still a mustang.

And when I see that my car has TEN times the amount of mileage they have, unless theyre a 2010 model, they shouldnt be judged with true driven cars. Why, I can tell you that my car has seen triple digits speeds, been driven on the street and track, while most of these cars havent done either. Some "fast" muscle car. A slug can move faster.

You know what a 1994 indy pace car cobra 1/1000 goes for at barrette jackson (which usually is the most youll ever see a car get? MSRP. Car had like 9 miles, seats and everything still in plastic, car was kept its entire life in one of those bubbles (no joke, there was pics) and all it go was MSRP. Now thing about this, after sitting on the car for 15 or so years, it LOWERED in value! Thats right, due to inflation. These limited edition cobras get big bucks only after 40 years have gone by. Think about having to store that thing for 40 years. Will you even live that long? And, those 40+yo cobras are only going for that much because some retarded baby boomers all of a sudden DEMAND 60s-70s muscle cars. How much were they worth in 1990? 2000? Why now? a 35 yo car is a classic, but only real enthusiasts will buy one. Same thing with damaged shells, a decade ago you could pick up a 60s mustang roller for a grand, now youll be lucky to find one 5k, yes, there are some out there, but everyone wants one for a project, a replicar, a clone.

Actually the one at barrett jacksons I saw had more miles, claimed it had the lowest known mileage, but a few months later I saw another indy with even less miles. This however probably truly is the lowest mileages indy ever.

Get this, the sticker says $26,845. In 1994, $26,845 was worth $38,361.23 after inflation. So even if this idiot got what hes asking for (which he wont as the one on barrett jacksons didnt even sell for that) he would have LOST money! Imagine 16 years of having it take up space, and such, and not even make a profit out of it. Clearly not an investment, but if its a museum piece, then why the bubble? you cant really admire it as part of your collection when its in a bubble.

On top of that, you cant even fire it up. I bet all the hoses are shot, the oils probably never been changed, and who knows what the gas is like in the tank if there is any. The engine probably will seize up. If any kind of moisture has gotten in there while it sat, yikes!!! At least Jay Leno DRIVES and maintains his cars. And ford made 1000 of these, not to mention they made 108 "festival cars" which were actually GTs but some of which were actually driven as part of that race. As far as rare collector mustangs go, these are not rare. Ive been to two car shows where TWO 1994 indy pace cars attended, went to one, where there was just one (not the same), and saw one actually driving on the road. How rare is that? How are they rare if you always see them? There are 4 for sale on ebay right as we speak!

But who can understand indy owners. I talked to one at a show whom I knew from a different show. I assumed it was the same indy. She actually drives her car to shows, and drove 5 hours to both of the shows Ive seen her at... ...but this was not the same indy. She had gotten rid of her old one and bought this one. I asked her why. She told me because it had less miles! WTF?!? If youre driving it all this time to shows and things, why should it matter?!? It was a perfectly good indy! I would have loved it if my own mustang had less miles, but Im not going to sell it and get the exact same car just for that reason! Why? Cuz Im going to drive that sucker and it will just accumulate the same amount of miles.
