Compcams link bar lifters?

So I put the compcams link bar lifters in my dart build last winter and had some valvetrain issues along the way. And my conclusion was I had 2 bad lifters. Well I pull the heads off today to get them out and it seems that inside the lifter above the spring and piston, the little metal peice that should be in there holding the cup/piston in the lifter body had been bent and pushed out of 4 of them. Has anyone had issues like this before with these lifters?

Damn, that's really weird. I'd call comp about it on Monday. I'd like to see some pics too.

Absolutely...I would def call comp.

Just curious, why didn't you just use stock lifters? As long as your using a hydraulic roller...stock lifter are more than sufficient.

Fwiw...NMRA renegade class has to use stock unmodified lifters and those engines see 8000 rpm's and well over 1000RWHP.

I heard rumors they were "modifying" those lifters to make them survive that kind of abuse. I don't know the details, and of course it could be all speculation and heresay, but given that those guys are pretty serious - I wouldn't doubt it if a little "ingenuity" was involved.

I am SURE nothing is ever 100% honest with competition like that lol

BUT...the stock lifters can take some serious abuse.

well i had switched the stockers for the link bars on the dart motor because i had a stocker get loose(get out of the dog bone bracket) in my last motor and it turned and ate my cam up. So with a 10g motor i didnt want to take any chances

Yep that be me still here in the A-F-G

I finally get to put some miles on my motor in about 7 days. It has had 13 put on it since I left in August. My goal is to put about 200 miles on it and then drop it off for the turbo install. (I will update my build thread with some pics as soon as I get home next week)

How long is yours going to be down for?

no i didnt get the twin disc setup like i wanted, they told me that the C174 zoom 3.5 would support 700hp so thats what i got and 800 miles later it had to be pulled out cause it was slipping real bad. and i talked to them a little last year let them know what was up and talked to them 2 months ago when i brought it out of storage and the guy there wont say names yet but he told me to send it back up there and he would take care of it and get me another one sent out. and now its been a month and i call once a week and all i get is the run around. bunch of bs, especially after droppin 6gs with them.
