is it worth it? or should i find a npi timing chain cover for the coil brackets? or just relocate them as well?

ive did some work with some COP trucks and know that sometimes they can be a PITA and expensive. did i mention expensive?

so give me your opinions.

also isnt there a conversion to use LSx coils?

Check SVTPerformance, forum (SN95 Cobra). A guy called "The Red Monster" makes professional cop converion plug and play kits. I'm going to eventually go COP because when I put the supercharger on there, I dont want the wiring from the coil packs all in the way. Secondly there really isn't a benefit, from what I read its a waste spark system just like the coil pack system. The only real advantage with coil pack system is having better performance when your revving past 7500rpm, and none of us is doing that.

i have the COP conversion from "the red monster". first hand ill tell you the quality is good. i dressed it up more. second theres no real performance edge in using the COP system. visually it cleans the engine bay. i am using a supercharged system. i use the existing space of the coil pack bracket as a means for the moroso breather can. i deleted the PCV. i only (my personal opinion)recommend that on a supercharged system also. our 96-98 PCM ignition isnt a weak point for revving over 7000 RPM as the 99-^. the coil on plugs do work. my combo was tuned to 575hp with the COP conversion. i do not rev past 6500.

Im going to be making the COP Conversion harness in the near future if i ever find the time, If you have a little time to wait i could make you one. Much less then the $150 Harness from SVTP but it will be splice in untill i can find the correct connector. Ive been searching for weeks to find the aftermarket plug so there plug and play but i can't find them anywhere...

Try these guys, have found a lot of obscure stuff through them in the past

Now I know the 4v guys need the valve covers, COPS, etc.

For a 2v is it as easy as remove plug wires, remove coils, run new harness, connect COP's to motor, connect harness to COP's, done?

i think splicing in that connection is alot better. i dont have problems with said harness but i believe in solid hard wiring.

What are you guys using for a power steering bracket since the OEM one has the coil pack mount on it?

I have the red monster harness also. I always had trouble with the #4 boot wiggling its self up off of the spark plug and causing misfires back when i had wire ignition. It never made any sense, tried 3 sets of wires and all kinds of troubleshooting.

I went cop so i could bolt the coils down to my pi manifold and know that the coil would never come up again.

Has been running flawlessly for me ever since i had the new setup up and now building this other one im working on right now im sure that it will work just fine.

As far as the bracket i just have it sitting on my motor without the coil on it, i plan to make something fancy for the ps resivor later on. not really on my list right now.
