Could my tires be my problem?

Okay so I had rims and tires mounted and balanced twice, still had a vibration. Got new wheels due to them peeling so AM sent me new ones, had those mounted and I still had a vibration.. I read up online about Goodyear Eagle GT tires and some people complained about vibrations in the steering wheel at about 50mph and highway speeds.. Front suspension is fine as far as I know, could the tires be defective? Would give me a good excuse to buy some new tires that can keep this car on the road in the rain, and more so to get fatter tires for the rear lol.

This is exactly what I'm experienced. They were Road Force Balanced three times, a ton of weight on the front wheels too..
Noise, Vibration, and Harshness
I had a friend of mine road force balance and mount them on the Huffs. Even after some rim/tire matching, they still required what seemed like an abnormal amount of balancing weights. Each rim had three or more long strips of weight. My first trip home I noticed vibration in the steering wheel from 65mph and faster. Every round trip to and from work I noticed this vibration accompanied with increased noise on the highway. I thought maybe I was just being too sensitive and neglecting the fact that I went from a 45 series tire to a 40 series tire. The problem is that bumps and rough roads didn't really feel that much worse than the 17in setup I switched from.

Vibration just started with the new tires?

I'm assuming so but figured I'd ask

For what it's worth, I ran Goodyear Eagle GTs on my old V6 and my P71 Crown Vic that I used to have. I didn't have any issues with vibration on either vehicle. I loved those tires.

Tire could have a busted belt. Run your hand all the way around the tire and see if you feel any bumps in the tire.

I noticed the vibration after I had my Saleens put on back in April. Ever since then its been there. I had them re balanced and it went away, then came back. Had them re mounted (new rims) and balanced, wasn't there for the first day. Came right back and still here. I love the tires, aggressive tread, nice try traction, kinda crappy in the wet weather imo. These tires were new when I got the car last September. Guy said the car even has new tires. They still have those little nubs on them, and I put on close to 1,500 miles on them already so idk if that has any significance.

It sounds more like the wheel bearings to me rather than something with the tires.

Hmm. What other signs would there be if they were in need of replacing? I don't notice any grinding noises or anything abnormal. No problems turning or anything out of the norm, just the vibration in the wheel.

Put the front in the air, grab the top and bottom at the same time and try to rock the tire up and down any movement is bad or miss adjusted wheel bearings. Don't try left to right cause the steering system will have a small amount of play or movement.

Its weird though. Before I originally had the Saleens mounted and balanced, with the stock wheels and tires it was fine, never felt a vibration. Once I had the aftermarket rims put on (still same tires) I noticed the vibration at around 51-55 mph. Had them re balanced and it went away, came right back. New rims went on, gone for a little bit but came right back. Just really odd and annoying lol. Are wheel bearings expensive to have installed?

Thanks for the tip, gonna try this too.. I noticed I can push the rim and tire on the drivers side more than the passenger side. Pushing on the face of the rim & tire, idk if that means anything though.

Another thing to think about. When they mounted the tires did they use soap or grease to mount the tires, only approved tire lube should be used. The rim could be slipping on the tire knocking the combo out of balance again. Wheel bearings are cake to do.

Honestly have no clue dude. They were mounted and balanced once, re balanced a 2nd time. New rims went on and were mounted and balanced (road force again iirc).

Just make sure the tires are smooth and not cupped and wiggle the wheels top and bottom and left to right. If all is good, I'd just deal with the little vibration. It is a mustang and not a Cadillac, so noises/ vibrations are to be expected. My money is on slight cupping on the tires. Goodyears love to wear unevenly.

They look fine, the fronts look like they're wearing around the edges a lot more than the rear tires. And I did a ton of burnouts, rears still look like new. The rears were put on the front last week when the new rims were put on, so I'll see how the fronts (originally rears) wear. I don't mind the noises, I know its an old car lol and not luxury, the vibration is just really annoying and starting to tick me off lol.
