Ok so as my t5 was sitting in my backyard half apart I was curious and just checking things out. I noticed that the input and output shafts had probably 1/8 to a 1/4? inch play up down side to side but not in and out. The output was a little more than the input shaft but not by much.

The countershaft is perfectly solid like I expected the input and output to be, so I pulled them out and the bearings seem fine?

Could it be something else or should I stop being retarded and just get the new bearings already and be done?
Best/Cheapest place to by them?
As a kit or just the two or so I need?
Kinda confused on how to pull the output shaft apart. All the manual I was reading said was to "use suitable puller behind 1st speed gear? No pictures or anything.... Any help will be greatly appreciated Thank!

There's a couple roll pins, snap rings, etc, then you can just tilt the output shaft and pull it all as an assembly with first gear on it, then press it off.

There shouldn't be that much play in the input and output. But if you didn't measure it, i don't know how much it really was, you can see as little as .030 I'm sure. What manual do you have for it?

Ya I should have measured it. :wall: It was VERY noticeable though. What would you recommend I do just get new bearings and go from there?

I'm not exactly sure what to do to get the gears off. I know that they are pressed on but is there any kind of puller I could get from Autozone or anything like a simple 3 jaw puller?

I have been using this as the "manual" its also in pdf. Been very easy to follow up til now which is my inexperience not the manuals fault.

Thanks for the help man!

Well, that's the manual I use, it shows in there removing fifth gear from the back, and tilting the shaft up and out. I'll find the page for you later.

Ya I couldn't get the 5th drive gear off but I did in fact get the entire shaft out of the case. Only thing left in the case is just the counter shaft. I just need to get the output shaft apart to replace what they call the inner cone(#95 on page 34) I broke all 4 of the little tabs on it off haha. Thanks for the help. I know your a busy guy.
