can't afford a beat but you will have to afford to fix it? The price of that repair could have covered alot of a beater.

We do not hate you the way you think we do. You hate our opinions but later in life maybe when you have a kid ready for a car you wil lrealized that a mach is not the car to start in as well. the experience will come but you need to have the patients to learn it and take the time to do so and judging by your reactions this might be hard for you. I would not drop your account unless you plan on selling the mach as there is alot of good info on here that you may one day need. Don't let the fact that you got shit online stop you from getting good advise later, and as much as you do not like it almost everything mentioned above is good advise....

Take a step back and try to make a posative out of this bad situation and learn something from it to prevent it from happening again. Like I said I installed a rear back-up camera to prevent me from backing over my dog as I go out of the garage but it would have saved you here and the price of the equipment is less then the repair....

good luck with your repair, and your mach if you do leave..........

No its not a bad thing. But some advice from me to you: just be careful. Crap happens all the timee, heck when my car was an auto i ran into a parked car when i thought i put it in P but it was still in D. Difference is i fixed and painted it myself. Shit happens bro, just got to accept it and keep truckin. The guys do give you a hard time (part of havin a nice car), but its better than no one ever giving you any advice or help. Att any rate try looking for a bumper ( 99-04 gt`s the same as mach IIRC) and get it painted. It will be a lot cheaper than getting the current one fixed.

This is the last time I am going to tell you this.....GO BUY A 1992 FORD ESCORT WAGON!!!!!!

This is the last time I'm gonna say this: I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A DD BEATER SO FVCK OFF.

Watch your mouth, don't disrespect Senior members of this website, if you don't like someones opinion, tell them in a respectful way. Talk to other members of this site like they are your mother. I'm not saying this as a joke. I'm being serious. Respect others, especially the ones who came before you.

Duffy.

I was gonna say the same thing Duffy... He's giving you quality input and your being a little dick to people because you don't know how to handle the techniques of driving a nice car, that will not be nice for very long. That being said, your parents bought you a mach 1, but don't approve of you buying a 500 dollar beater? huh, that seems to be liberal logic to me.

you need to shut your damn mouth when it comes to talking about my family that way.

the reason is that at the moment I MYSELF cannot afford another car, even if it is a beater. ive got a job now, and im planning on paying insurance on the mach by myself. the car is already paid off, but i want to use the money i work for to pay for the insurance.

we also dont have the ROOM for another vehicle.

ive talked to the numerous times about buying a beater, mainly because cars in the parking lot at my school get scratched and dinged up all the time every day and of course nobody owns up to it. id rather pay 500 dollars for some POS DD than keep spending money repairing scratches and dings on the mach.

man this thread is a mess. When I got my first beater my insurance actually went down because I was able to list the Cobra as a pleasure vehicle and since it wasn't seeing as much mileage each year. I'll agree if you're 15 you shouldn't be driving a mach but I've also seen young kids driving much more expensive cars around here. My Cobra was my first car and yes I made some mistakes with it but you get it fixed and learn from your mistakes, difference being I guess is that I paid for my car.

Is it a bad thing that I'm gonna stick around? Lol...

No we like you around here.

If it comes down to buying a new bumper cover I personally would get a 03/04 Cobra and fill in the Cobra before getting painted. They just look so much cleaner then the other 99-04 rears. Paint shouldn't be hard to match at all at a good shop.

And don't listen to these knuckleheads... stuff happens and thats why we have repair shops. If you don't want these guys giving you crap about dumb things then don't tell them about it.

I dont really get it why so many people recommend 20 year old 500 dollar beater cars for a young driver. In case of a real crash, I wouldnt wanna sit in one of those....

a bumper is just a bumper - bumper comes from "to bump" right? its that unimportant cause replacable.

No because then I'd get constant flammage for having a cobra bumper with only a Mach 1.

Lol I'll look into it.

i bet you will feel "flamed" regardless so u might as well do the cobra rear bumper and fill in the COBRA before paintng which would look better.... but if u start replacing all the body panels with the cobra ones and then put cobra emblems on. id be the first to tell it sucks. lol
