Yeah that happens to me like everyday now. Most of them have plates from everywhere but here. I hate snowbirds.

There are idoits in every type of car though.

As a recent transplant to Tampa; I can vouch for this. My work is 4 miles away but takes me almost 30 minutes to drive there. I take 2 major streets (Gandy and Dale Mabry). Both are 45 MPH. Nobody does 45. If you get to 40 then its a good day. What pisses me off is when you get some idiot that feels the need to do 30. In the left lane, no less. Given the timing of the lights and the normally heavy semi truck traffic, your best bet is to just stay behind said idiot because he will probably turn right soon. Also, quite a few intersections down here have dedicated right hand turn lanes where you don't have to wait for turning traffic before turning right. People will sit there with NO traffic, waiting for the light to turn green before turning. It aggravates the crap out of me...

You should see the looks I get because I have Nebraska plates on both my Mustang and F150. I'm just some "dumb farm kid" from Nebraska (not true in any sense). Hopefully soon I will have FL plates.... I can finally take the front plates off (yessssss)!

I have noticed a correlation between bad/inconsiderate/arrogant drivers - in mini vans.
Good rant!

I think we just all hate bad drivers period. You should see the mothers in my town drive. It gets even better in the snow. They all are like I have an SUV I can take turns fast still and then they fish tail and start freaking out.

And to the driving tests these days. If you don't pass the first time you should probably not be allowed to take it for another 2 years. My friend drove on the wrong side of the road on the course failed the first time and passed the 2nd time. He is probably the worst driver in the world (he caused a pile up on a highway because he cut some people off). Honestly he deserves his license revoked.

you guys amuse me :)

I like the people that cut you off, you honk and they give you the "what, I had my turn signal on" look.

Or one time I had some like trying to kill me because I gave him the peace sign for letting me in.
He pulled up next to me and was like "pull over I'll beat your f'n a**"
I said "I was thanking you for letting me over"
Turns out he thought I gave him the finger haha.
He said "Nice car" and I sped off :)

I try to avoid being around cars with some sort of body damage on the fenders or rear quarter panels. I've seen numerous times where a car almost sideswiped me because they didn't look before merging and once I get them to realize that I'm there I can see some sort of damage of where they already hit someone. Leaves me thinking "gee, I wonder how that happened?"

Dedicated lane or not, I hate it when you have your signal on, the lane is empty, then someone from the middle lane changes in front of you blocking. It sucks because now you cant go right on red, and had they had just waited we both would of had our way... ...Naturally since you can legally go straight in most of these lanes, you cant do anything about it. Then the light turns green and they turn!!! Had they of just signaled, you would have known their intentions and lightly tap the horn politely to let them know they can go.

At no u-turn intersections our dedicated turning lanes have their own arrows that dont correspond to the straight only lights. I can see people pull up and stop just to see if it were safe, you have to slow down for the turn anyway and you never know if someones running a red or making an illegal u-turn. But sometimes they sit there when theres a light? Naturally if there is a light, 99% of the time its safe. Ill watch people honk at then, but nothing good ever comes from it.

At least they try. Here on a dry sunny day, they make complete stops, and s l o w l y pimp turn like a semi truck. School buses are faster! I dont understand why these vortech v8 monstrosities are so freakin slow... ...yet at the same time speed demons. Pick a speed!!! Better yet, Pick a lane!!! It takes them forever to figure out what lane they want to be in after the turn. What stinks is its always the lane YOURE in. You see a slow moving moron with 3/4th of their vehicle in the lane, so naturally you assume thats the one they want and pick the other and speed up to pass. Even if your lane is about to end soon they will cut you off and take that one instead. Im pretty sure they dont mean to cut you off. They have no idea you even existed, which is why they took their sweet time in a turn, and why they didnt think it was necessary to signal their lane change (even though they didnt signal in the turn either) Sadly, theyre so slow Ive sometimes passed them IN a turn. Theres multiple lanes, I should have to wait for you to pick on, just go! Heck theres this one road that doesnt even have a turn lane, it just bends right. 60mph (now 55mph) they drive 30 and either get the majority if not ALL their vehicle in the shoulder. Driving on the shoulder is legal in this state if youre intentions are to allow someone to pass. So naturally I speed up and try. Well when the curve starts to straiten they merge back and try to push me into oncoming traffic! I dont know with all the pimp turning, why they feel the need to take the corner so sharply. Maybe if they stayed in their lane the turn would be wider and they could go faster. All I know is my tax dollars pay to paint the lines they drive over and rub off.

It seems that they pimp turn when its the worse choice and turn sharply when its also a bad choice. Theres this one intersection where so many right turners have turned sharply and driven in the dirt. So much in fact that it caused a hole. So the town filled it. People continued to drive even sharper and caused a hole next to the filled one. They kept repaving and adding on to this one lane that now when I get to it I stop where I ALWAYS have stopped, with my blinker of course, and guess what happens? some idiot tries to pass me on my right!!! Of course they'll have to drive on the dirt to do it, but there is now enough room that it confuses people into thinking theres an additional lane. I HAVE MY BLINKER ON PEOPLE! If Im turning right, that mean you better not be turning when I turn. Then again, Ive have numerous cases where the exact opposite has happened, I see people in the right, and get in the left lane to turn left. Had they of just SIGNALED I would have known they werent turning right. These problem areas are solved by added medians and preventing additional lanes. :angry7:

And to the driving tests these days. If you don't pass the first time you should probably not be allowed to take it for another 2 years.

At least you actually have a physical driving test. At least your friend was kept off the road for a while. 2 years is a bit extreme. I could see 2-4 weeks though. I do think EVERYONE should be retested (physical driving test) every 5 years. That includes you and me. And at age 60, every 2 years, and at age 70 every one year. They would never do it though because of the budget. The problem is statistics. How many people have died as a result from automobile accidents? Due to proper healthcare, and fast response times, many people with permanent injuries lived. They arent on the data. And of course people who dont get injured also dont show up in the data. No one cares unless someone dies. They dont look at the amount of money wasted on repairs on vehicles/buildings/etc, medical care, loss of work, legal fees, and so on. The amount of money wasted could have been spent to prevent all this... And prevention isnt pulling a strobe light inside a stop light (yes I have seen these). If you cant see a red light that the need for a strobe light is necessary, you shouldnt be allowed to drive, period. Then again I guess my dream of a supreme DMV wont ever be because think about all the collision centers, insurance, hospitals, laywers that would lose business. :BangHead:

I like the people that cut you off, you honk and they give you the "what, I had my turn signal on" look.
Had a good one the other day... ...Im merging onto a highway. Theres only one small spot where I can merge. Not a big deal though as I have plenty of room between the other vehicles. Not many people signal for on ramp lane mergers, but I did. I have my car 3/4s in and this crazy BMW cuts me off without signaling in an attempt to pass a truck. I honk mostly because that was MY lane. Not only was in already in it, but where else am I suppose to go? The shoulder? Thats dangerous at such a speed. Sadly the left lane was completely empty, he should have passed him on the left. I dont know what the law is in our state, but passing on the right should be reserved for cases where theres an idiot in the left lane driving slower than the rest of the surrounding traffic. But then sometimes that creates a funny scene where they need to change into the right but cant due to the fast paced stream on constantly passing vehicles.

I honestly dont even understand the need of them. If you have 2 or less children, why not get a family sedan? Theyre easier to maneuver. The trunk space is large enough to haul a families suit cases. Many have enough leg room in the back for a full size adult to feel comfortable. Unless you plan on hauling a ladder or large lumber frequently I dont see a need.
