which one of these two blocks would be better for a stroker + turbo/blower engine build.
im pretty sure the boss 302 is about 800-1000 cheaper unless im mistaken, but is there a big difference between the strength of the two?

Both are great blocks. I've heard that the cylinder bores are longer on the Dart block than the Boss block, which helps with piston stability in long stroke applications, but have no personal experience in the matter.

I think the reality is that either of these blocks will do great for the overwhelming majority of combinations out there.

The main difference is the Dart has four bolt mains on every main, but the Boss is a nice piece.

The Dart block also comes machined and ready to go as far as I know.

The Boss is a core that needs to be taken to a machine shop.

Personally, I would go with the Boss Block. I like the fact that it is from Ford itself.

WHY NOT GO WITH A WORLD BLOCK? 4 bolt on all 5, thicker walls, larger max bore, longer max stroke, extra head bolts per cylinder. Jason Lee uses a Man O War block with a huge turbo on it and make over 2000hp @ the wheels without a hiccup.

The world blocks can be machined to whatever specs you need. shoot me a PM for pricing

Except for with all 5 4bolt mains you need a custom oil pan, and extra head bolts per cylinder only apply if you are running the world heads as well.

id do the world block hands down... seen all of them in person and the world block is a LOT beefier and looks to be of nicer quality... the dart would be my next choice then the boss... dont get me wrong the boss block is a great block but imo for a couple hundred bucks more the world is a wayyy better buy.... most boss blocks cost around 1500-1700 and the worlds cost just over 2k so..

IMO, I've seen the Worl blocks, and while they are nice, I'm not going to use those extra head bolts (most heads can't) that makes the block wider, and heavier... There is a point of overkill.

Agreed 100%

The world block is stuff for big Power

ie: nmra/nmca etc

No one on this board will make the power to break a boss block.

The boss block is the a4/r block with better cooling passages. It's not a siamese block.

TRUE- While it may be overkill for most applications, you still have a larger max displacement with the world block over all of the other ones = More rebuilds per block

it kinda depends on how much of a stroker you want, the boss block could go up to like 360 cubes or something like that and the dart block i believe can go 370+ cubes i think, unless youre talking about a dart block thats 351 based then it can go 430+ cubes, but either way both blocks would be enough for a lot of power

if im not mistaken i remember reading something about how the dart blocks are made and the heating cycles they go through to make them a lot stronger

and as for a world block, ive seen motors built with that block that maxed out 2000+ hp dynoes, so im going to have to agree that it is complete overkill for anything on the street

^ Yes, not to mention the monetary issue of actually building something streetable that will break a Boss/Dart block, its highly unlikely for the average enthusiast to have that amount of money laying around to be making that much power. Personally im a fan of the Boss blocks, you would def have something unique in that sense, but i read somewhere that FRPP is going to be introducing the Boss 351 blocks again, a guy on Corral apparantly is R&D at FRPP and said its in the works. That is what im holding out for

I was always under the impression that with better cooling the Boss block would be a better block for running the streets where the Dart block would be a better block for the strip. I personally am going with the Boss block when the time comes.
