Deer hates BABs *pics

During the daylight yesterday, I had a deer jump out of the woods near my house today ~5:30 PM and bolted into the front fender of my stang. There was no time to react as the woods are right up against the road and he went kamakazi style at the car. She ran away, left a nice sized dent in my fender and some snots on the windshield. Kills my plans on going to Ford show at Carlisle this year. I hope I can get this fixed and paint to match so I can't tell it was ever in an incident.
If you guys have some advice on how to get it properly fixed/repaired, I'd appreciate it. Questions to ask of a body shop? Thanks.

it can be fix pretty easy,i think your best bid will be going to the Junk yard and get one that has no dents and painted,again it all depends on how much they are going to charge you to fix it.

Don't think there are many 98 BAB fenders sadly or I would do that in a heartbeat. I'm getting it looked at early next week and see what they say.

That sucks man. We have LOTS of deer here where I live. I'm constantly worried about that.

It's hard to tell but it doesn't look like the dent is creased but where it's located will probably make it hard to pop out.

I thought too because of it being dented where the crease is in the fender it wouldn't be able to be popped out. Would live to keep the original fender or at a minimum the factory paint, but I'm not holding my breath.

That does blow! I wouldn't let that stop you from going either! Just have a sign or something what happened! You still have a good looking car!! It isn't your fault a deer ran into it! Ironic thing is I bet the deer never even skipped a beat!! Those things are tough!!! You got lucky it only messed up that small amount, I think!

try and pop it out..... both my sister and roomate recently got bumped into and we have been able to reach
behind it and push it back out.. get your car up on a lift/ jackstands.. take the front wheel off. then the front
splash guard, and try and push it out.. its free, so it couldn't hurt anything.

Thanks. Yes, the deer never stopped moving, made the turn and ran up the street. It was a large version white tail. After I get it looked at by insurance, maybe I'll give popping it out a try but that fender seems pretty tough and not sure how the paint will hold up being put back in place.

yeah id start looking on ebay and in junkyards for a good painted fender, same thing happened to me about 2 years ago, unfortunately i couldnt find a real opal frost frender, and i called every junkyard in a square 200 miles of where i live, i ended up getting a repo ebay fender and painting it, to my surprise it actually fit perfect, cost about $200 to fix, $100 + shipping for the fender, $25 paint from napa, $50 to have someone paint it, and i put the fender on myself

Depending on your location, try and find one of those mobile dent services....around here there is a business called Dent Doctor, and they can pull out just about any type of dent without messing up the paint....Might be worth while to try???

some of those guys are REALLY good at that i think they heat it up and push it out from the back then let it cool and just keep doing it slowly like that, in order to not crack the paint

If you pick up a fender a place to look is www.rockauto.com. Last week I picked up a fender from them for $160 and change shipped. It's CAPA certified which guarantees fit and quality equal to original equipment. It's not on the car yet so I can't verify.

+1 to that, I had a drunk friend of mine punch a dent deeper than yours in my RR Quarter panel right by the fuel door and for $100 they popped it out and it's perfect. Worth a shot, kinda like that deer when you buy yourself a cheap rifle with all the money you saved.

Update:
Insurance company had a look and gave a preliminary estimate that it can be repaired - not replaced, but that it's ultimately up to the body shop that I choose. When I voiced my concern that I wanted it to look like it was prior to the damage (no bondo), I was told that 30-40% claims are re-adjusted. It comes down to the shop. Sounds to me like they low-ball and try to get away with it then make it difficult to come up as the shop then has to deal with the insurance company. 1st claim eva in 20+ years if you don't count windshield replacements, so I'm not real happy.
I've got a lead on a fender the supposedly the same color ~2.5 hrs away in good shape no dents or scratches, so I'm going to try that first. Next on the list is to try one of those paintless dent places, found one under an hour from me and near a real body shop recommended to me.

Was able to get it fixed 98.5% by going dentless repair. Here's how it turned out. It maybe hard to see, but right where the crease is, there is a little outward dimple. Unless you know it's there and look at certain angles, it's hard to detect.
