Difference between vin #s?

Hey I'm going to go look at a 1995 "Cobra" tomorrow. I am wondering if its actaully a Cobra because from what I know they only come in with a 5 speed. He says that it is an automatic, is the vin different compared to a gt so I could tell if it actually is a Cobra. I want to make sure he didn't just change the intake manifold and end up with a gt when I thought it was a Cobra.

get him to send you the vin if he won't send it to you before you go look at it he probably has something to hide!

the 8th digit of the VIN will be the letter D for a 1995 Cobra.

also the airbag will say cobra on it instead of the running horse. people forget than when they do a clone

and the rear bumper, in 1995, Cobra rear bumpers said "Mustang" on them, and GT's said "Mustang GT"

atlanticblue is right on, check the VIN cause that's probably your best bet.

There is always the obvious trunk lid wont have a taillight. Most people wont do a rear brake swap either. There is also the valve covers with say cobra on them. Good luck.
