Ok I want to disconnect my passenger airbag. My 4 year old wants to ride in the front seat. I won't let him because of the airbag. Is there anyway I can disconnect it so he can ride up in the front. He want to ride up there so he can see out the window.

Thanks
Chris

You people should be ashamed of yourselves...I'm a father at the grand old age of 25 and that makes me sick. I know how to do this and I will keep it to myself, you should never, ever put a 4 year old child in the front seat. Technically a 4 year old doesnt even meet the weight/height limit to be OUT of a booster seat.

THIS THIS THIS. I would never in my life think about putting a kid up front. If you get in an accident insurance is gonna have a field day.

I know how to unplug it. LOL But is there a way to keep the driverside working? If not I'm fine with the driverside not working.

He is still in the booster seat. He will still be in it till he is big enough. When you have a truck you can turn the airbag off and he can sit in the front seat then. So why not now? I'm very picky about the car seats and booster seats I will let my boy be in. I have bought booster seats and not like them and go right back to the store and buy another one. If I buy another car and the booster seat I have don't sit right I will go back and buy another one for that car. I have car seats and booster seat all over my house still new. Just because I like one better than the other in a different car.

Ok if the airbag is turned off! He is in a booster seat! With the seat belt correct spots over his shoulder then whats wrong with being in the front seat?

If your state allows a 4 year old to sit in the front seat because there is no air bag or its turned off then so be it, do as you wish. I know in my state there is a height and weight requirement.

a 600 pound block of metal hurtling towards a 70 pound, 40 inch tall human with only a 1/4 inch of sheet metal protecting him. If its not a big deal for you then thats cool. Just dont think its a good idea. Dont get butt hurt.

I just clearly don't see a point to putting your kid in the front vs. the rear and risk both your kids as well as your own safety. An insurance company will not insure you if you have an accident and you tampered with the airbag system. good luck.

Ok so why is the back seat safer? The quarter is not going to be really any stronger than the door? You still have a window? What 600 pound block of metal?

I'm 29 and I have a 4 year old and I have a little girl on the way. I want my boy to be as safe as possible. I don't see how the front seat is any unsafer the the rear seat. As long as the airbag is off, the seat belt is correct with them in a correct booster seat. I'm very picky like I said. People bring me there carseats for me to install them for them. Because I take so long to install them and make sure they are correct.

Ok guess I will just drive my 92 Coupe. It don't have an airbag on the passenger side. Case closed!

My dad actually has pictures of his old 1981 capri on the dragstrip with my older sister's(she's 26 now)baby seat in the rear seat. I wouldn't let my kids sit in the front of my car until they are tall/old enough. Tell him that not many people can fit comfortably into the back of a Mustang so he should be pretty proud of that ;)

you also realize that you if you live in a state that has inspections that this will make it fail inspection=not street legal right?

He wants to look out the window............. Tell him to hurry up and grow up.

I will never tell my boy to hurry and grow up. I want him to stay young. They grow up fast enough as it is.

We don't have inspections here. I know you can get the airbag turned off. Because some people are so short they have to get the airbags turned off because they sit so close to the steering wheel that if the airbag came out it would kill them.

Mylittle boy sits in the back of the 95 GT car when I drive it. He like the 92 coupe better. Thanks for all the advice!
