I'm just going to assume that since it's printed on plain english on most visors now-a-days that children should never sit in the front seat, that there must be some scientific data to support it and thats all I need.

if this the case where is the visor that states women must either ride in the trunk or be dragged from a tow hitch if applicable? don't need no bitchiness while I'm driving.

there is no need for the visor unless you also have a kitchen in said vehicle.

it would be illegal for any person no matter size or shape to disconnect an airbag.

Um nope! Just anybody yes. If you sit to close to the steering wheel you can carry your car back to the manufactuer and they will dissconnect the airbag for you. You are suppse to sit a foot away from the steering wheel. There have been cases where the airbag killed women because they was to close. So yes you can get the airbag dissconnected and be legal!

It says that because of the airbag! Not because it's the front seat. If the airbag was turned off I don't see a problem with it. It says the AIRBAG can cause injury or death.

My visor also states that the back seat is the safest place for children. Its like blah blah airbag can kill a kid blah blah, back seat is the safest place.

There's no arguing around the back seat is the safest place. Just put the kid in the back. Jeez, its not that hard.

I have been installing for over 10 yrs and never yet heard of this law saying that if you are about a foot away you can just take her on in and have it disconnected!

I invite you to go down to your local dealership and ask how much they will charge to just disconnect it and then leave it for you because you sit to close, give them a call if you want a good time. Is there supposed to be some kind of height requirement needed before you can do this or is it just anyone that feels like disconnecting a federally mandated safety device can do?

i dont know about ya'll but in NC your airbags are in no way shape or form part of the saftey inspection. that air bag light can be on all it wants, doesnt matter.

regardless I cannot advise or assist in putting a child in the front seat. i'd feel real bad if I told you how and then saw a post about an accident.

unplug battery

under dash there are three bolts, remove those to take out the glove box.

deeper in the dash are two bolts that hold the air bag in. unbolt those.

slide airbag out, unplug wire.

install airbag delete if you dont want an air bag there and dont want the air bag light to stay on.
otherwise remove airbag from car, or slide it back in un-plugged and re-bolt it back in. place electrical tape over air-bag light.

re install glove box.
re install battery terminals under the hood.

My two year old rides in the front seat of my mustang in his simpson racing car seat with the 5 point harness and I have both airbags disconnected! I have no back seat in my car and he loves it. As far as the po po I have drove by them plenty of times in the past and smiled and waved all they do is give me a  for my car. He rides in the front of my old 1993 gmc single cab pickup truck also then again no back seat I have asked police officers in alabama what the law about children riding in the front if you have no back seat and none can come up with an answer so until I get pulled over thats where he will be. If it is not legal to turn off the airbags then why do most of the vehicles come from the factory with a switch or place to put the key in the dash to turn the passenger side off? And what is the difference in the insurance companies covering a new car with airbags and covering a old car that was made before they came out?

Yes a dealership will do it. They won't do it for me because I'm 6 foot. LOL I believe I sit far enough back from the steering wheel.

You do know that the air bag module will not go to sleep or even be 100% deactivated for over 20 minutes of no battery right (depending on manufacture), almost NONE are dead instantly after disconnecting the battery.

I did but thanks for the reminder! I usually wait 30 mins to an hour before I mess with them. I have never messed with the passenger side airbag but I have had to change steering wheels before and disconnected them and reinstalled them.
