im about to do a HCI swap and im wondering if im goin to need to replace my 19# with 24#.
just a mild hci swap with a 2.02/1.60 60cc heads, ecam, and a gt40 intake. i already have a set of 24#s at the shop waiting. but what to do about a meter. can i just swap a meter and injectors on my car like i did on my fox?

Id use the 24's for piece of mind. Your gonna need a tune anyway. Use the stock meter and tune for 24lber's

if you run a more mild cam, you could get away without a dyno tune for now, but the 94/95 computers dont like the cam swap and will lots of times buck at low rpms with the lower vacuum. some times with a hci though you can just swap the meter out and you'll be fine.

you will get more performance with a tune though

Funnily enough i'm getting rid of my E-Cam and getting an Anderson B-31, the idle with the E cam is almost hopeless on mine, apart from that its a pretty good performer.

I usually don't reply twice to these threads, but you you are doing a mild hci you won't see over 310's.. You will BE FINE with stock injectors..

Why even bother? If you have your heart set on doing a 351, just wait.

No need for 24's. On an N/A setup, 19's will support enough power for a mild setup.

I put a B-31 in my 94 Cobra with TFS heads, untuned right now. The car is a different animal now, the idle is very mean sounding, getting on it in first gear is about useless instant tire spinning/smoking from 2000-6000 it pulls very hard. Once crusing speed it drives very nice alomst stock like. Untuned I'm knocking down 320 miles to the tank 75% highway, I was at 350's with my GT40 heads/stock cam. My boss pulled in at the same time I did the other day, she's like that's a pretty loud car you have :) can't wait to get some boost and a tune and see what this thing will do.

ok so why does everyone say you dont need 24's on all of these upgraded motors when alot of them are upgraded past stock cobra and the cobra comes with 24's . just wondering cuz i thought i would have to step up to 32's when i build my 331 this winter with afr heads and an f-cam with 1.7 rollors.so please explain why?

F cam? to each their own..
you should be fine with 30lb injectors.
use the chart and coversion table listed on the following link.

Well i was told 19lb are good to about 300hp, when i got my crate motor [rated about 340 at the crank] i was recommended to get 24lb so the 19s were not being "overworked".
Looking at the Anderson Ford site they say if your fitting a B31 cam to use 30lb, so yeh its confusing.

only reason for f-cam is that i was told it was the largest i can go with my 1.7 rollors and still use my stock cobra covers i am however open to suggestions.altough i will not change my stock covers.
