Does your gas guage turn off when your car is off?

Does your gas guage turn off when your car is off? I just replaced my whole unit since the sender wasnt working (was showing empty) and now it never goes to empty when the car is off, but it seems to be working properly... Thanks

My 98 used to do that too, Id turn the car off and itd sit at where it was so I think its normal.

Mine stays at a level. It doesn't go to zero, but it does increase a bit slowly when the car is turned back on.

Mine does this too. It's always an eighth or so off when the car is off.

mine normally stops just under a 1/4 tank.
