DOT legal clear corners?

Hey everyone, I had bought the original clear corners off of american muscle and the weather stripping was over-sized, and cracked and fell off within a few months of having them. Plus, I had failed inspection here in NJ because of them. The new ones they have have a small amber reflector in them which I guess fixes that problem, I'm just concerned about the shitty weather stripping. Right now I have the stock ones in. I loved the clean look of the completely clear ones.

Anyone have aftermarket clear corners that had decent weather stripping on them? I still have the ones I bought, just there's no stripping on them.

All the stripping comes off on aftermarkets.
Did you have Amber bulbs in the clear housings? I've had clear sides on with no reflectors and Amber bulbs for almost 10 years and passed inspection every time.

I couldn't figure that one out, either. I've passed before. I had my lights on the entire time and my bulbs light up amber.

Correct me if I'm wrong, all corners have to have the amber or they're not actually DOT legal.... Now most of the time you'll be fine with just having the amber bulbs. But I wouldn't know anything about that since I don't have any kind of inspections in FL :headbang: :headbang: o/r x and dumped LM1's make for a loud car.

But part of my weatherstripping came off of my BOI smoked lights... I just think it's the way of the aftermarket since they make them as cheap as possible to maximize earnings.

Does anyone know a vendor who sells aftermarket corners with decent weather stripping?

I've never seen any aftermarket corners that are quality pieces or fit worth a damn. Until someone markets a good set, I'm sticking with the OEM.

i see your side marker bulbs are blue. i know some bulbs are made blue, but shine amber. if they dont shine amber, you will fail inspection. you can have clear side markers, and bulbs that arent amber, as long as the bulb is amber when it is lit.

you'll never pass inspection with clear corners that dont emit an amber light.

Try a different inspection station, maybe you just ran into an A-hole this time. There are imports with stock clear turns with no reflectors that use the blue sylvania bulbs that light amber so i always thought it was not needed.

I'm going private from now on. I passed inspect last year no problem. This year they busted my balls. Hadn't changed a single thing about the car.

are you sure they failed you for the side markers and not the headlights? most inspection places will pass you, but it is technically illegal to use HID's in those headlights. some prick inspector having a bad day may chew you on that.
