She didn't dyno nearly what I thought she would. I expected a number over 300hp. Shes at 292 hp and 290 tq. A little bit of smoke but im thinking it will go away after I put some more miles on her.

1998 Cobra Dyno

Enjoy!

Don't let the numbers bother you too much. They're just numbers. You're adding a blower anyway. Right?
well, i am kinda bothered by them because I expected more. My old setup 6 months ago made 290hp. Since then, ive rebuilt the engine, added IMRC deletes, and pocket ported the heads. yeah im throwing the supercharger on, but still kinda worried about why I only picked up 2hp.

Remember, it is still a fresh baby motor. Let it break in some more.

If you lowered the compression, it would make as much power NA since low compression needs the blower. So you would have not gained much if you ran a low compression piston even with the pocket ported heads and the IMRC delete. Once you throw the blower on and turn the boost up to lets say, 20 haha since you got a built motor, then you will make damn good power.

yea somethings not right. i know its a b head car but still, long tubes and 4valves are like hot women and thongs they love each other. this just proves you can have the best bottom end in the world and it wont make power. but once you put a blower on that set up, your gonna be all set. thoes heads will flow good, and the long tubes will be happier too. Did you ever degree your cams when you reassembled the motor. long tubes and degreed cams should be like 30rwhp easy on a 4v motor

the only thing i have changed since January to my engine were main and rod bearings, new rings, IMRC deletes, and pocket ported heads.

i already had long tubes for the last tune, same pistons were used which are at 9:1 compression. im honestly thinking the rings have not seated fully. i could be wrong, this is my first rebuild so im unsure about that sort of thing. but there was a bit of smoke coming out the back which i know is not the heads, so i can only think that it would be the rings.
