Will it make a difference if i change my roller rockers, i currently have the 1.6 but since the 1.7 give more lift i figure the cam would perform better with my GT-40P heads. What you guys think? Has any one done this, ALSO any sound clips of the difference.

You would get a noticeable difference if you were going from 1.5 to 1.7, but since Ford uses 1.6 you're not going to be able to tell much.

Sometimes its advantageous to just change the exhaust side when you have a single pattern cam and the exhaust port lacks good flow. Again though this is best enhanced when doing a larger change.

if the lift is 498' with 1.6 rr, how much will it be with 1.7? People been telling me that with 1.7 rr it be almost or even better than the TFS stage 1 cam.

Lift will be .529" with the 1.7 rockers.

To figure that out just divide the .498 by 1.6 to get lift at the cam lobe, .311 . Then multiply that by the 1.7 ratio you want to use.

Don't use the total lift height as the only determining factor. Something else that comes into play is the speed of lift, or "ramp speed", of the cam lobe. Two cams can have the same amount of lift but the can each get there at different speeds, then duration also comes into play.

1.7 rockers also increase valve speed over 1.6, but this amount is small. How much affect it will have depends on other cams specs as well.

I don't think the difference would be worth the money or time. My guess is the sound will be the same also. remember the majority of the cam's performance and sound comes from the duration, not the lift.

over .500 is a lot of lift be careful with clearances

yup, and also depends on how the cam is installed....straight up, advanced, retarded etc... I think on the 94-95 cars you can get away with an E-cam and 1.7s, again, on how the cam is installed...but I think you might have to notch the valve reliefs/flycut to get the clearence...

If the motor was apart, then I say do it, but if the motor is still together and you just want to change the rockers, I would just leave it the way it is and look at something else to upgrade.

I've seen allot of people go with f cams and 1.7 roller rockers without notching the pistons.
