I let my old man borrow my Mustang yesterday and he comes home and says to me "did you notice your e-brake light stays on all the time except for when you get on the gas a little?" "uhh... No dad. The **** you do to my car?"

Sure enough drove it to work today and the damned light just stays on all the time. You give it a good amount of gas and it goes out, let off the gas and it comes right back on.... No it's not engaged at all, I checked that out. And no it's not really a problem, more like a nuisance. Any ideas fellers?

check your brake fluid. no serious do that. you might have used your brakes enough where the fluid has gone past the sensor line in the brake fluid reservoir. Had that happen to mine. You may even have a leak some where. but put some dot 3 in the reservoir and check it again under acceleration.

you don't have a "E-BRAKE " light. Only a Brake light. and a ABS light.
The BRAKE light is multi purpose.
- e-brake is on
- low fluid level
If it's low fluid level then you should also ck for leaks and brake pad wear.
The auto makers have advanced to the point that when the brake light comes on for low fluid then the pads are worn to the limits and need to be replaced.

Check fluid

Also make sure your e brake handle is not loose and pulling up and down by itself

don't forget to ck the brake pads too.
If you filled up the brake resevoir them decide to replace your brake pads, when the caliper pistons are compressed you push all the out fresh brake fluid all over the headers and other stuff too

The same thing happened to my mom's Mazda 3.

Her fluid is fine. She told me it came on when she hit a large pothole in the ground. I guess the sensor took a pretty big hit and decided to go out of whack.
