Ok so I recently bought a 95 5.0 knowihrg the radio wasn't working hoping maybe just a fuse...fixed fuse still no radio....now I am realizing that nothing along the console works..lighter, fog light switch, aod off switch

could this all be related or should be on separate circuits? I know the former owner previous to me bought it with stereo not working and it is obvious someone had a large system installed at one time so maybe the wiring harness for the factory store is useless now?

any ideas are greatly appreciated

Radio fuse only controls the switched power.

If cig lighter and other stuff is t working then you need to check the constant fuse that feeds the cig and constant power to the radio for memory. If I remember correctly it also feeds the clock.

That is the wierd part the clock is still working just fine and the powrr
mirrors work also which appear to have relation to the radio from what I see online

havent figured out which fuse handles the cig lighter yet

Clock may be on a separate fuse but if memory serves me correct cig and radio constant are on the same fuse.

don't bother with the manual. Get on your back and pull/inspect them all and then you can be sure they are good. It also takes 1/3 the time of decifering the manual....

I wish I had a manual lol...I'm just pulling the fuse diagram off
google.

would any fuse under the hood have an affect on the radio, cog lighter, or overdrive?

Thanks for the info to you guys btw!

yes. Check every fuse under the hood and dash and let me know which one is blown. Trust me it is often much more fun to see what the manual lists that fuse is related too compared to the problem at hand meaning your radio/clock is bad but its the heater fuse that blew.

Checked all of them under the hood and under dash and none were blown and as far as I know none are mossing

I guess next move is to remove the console and see what is happening there?

i did take the car to an exhaust shop today and while it was on the lift looked at transmission and am guessing I found where the OD off switch "would" connect to tranny. I took a picture I'll try to post from
phone but might need to wait until tomorrow on laptop

The black piece with the blue around the base looks like the possible
connection for the OD switch

start with the things you know are bad and work your way back tracing wires if need be. The radio has 2 power wires a switched and a constant, make sure you have both.

Sorry I totally forgot to reply to this thread with results..Christmas took hold. LOL

so after testing the stereo wires and finding they had power I hooked up new stereo and all is good on that front..apparently old radio was wasted.

I still have not gotten around to testing the cigarette lighter by the shifter, but the one in the ashtray works if you hold the connection just right. LOL
