hi, not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes anyway.... whilst doing my head gasket replacement on my 1995 v6, I am taking the opportunity to paint some of the engine parts to get them back to or as near as original condition (not concours)

does anyone know what paint colour/paint type to use for the valve covers? they are black, but don't know if there is a specific type of black.
also the water outlet heater pipes from lower intake manifold to the firewall (heating), what paint colour? is it charcoal black? is this paint available.

any help appreciated....

just use semi-gloss black engine enamel. the valve covers are powder coated from the factory. Use methaleyne chloride to strip them down. Make sure to wear gloves, it burns like hell.

I would assume it's semi. Thats what mine looked like. The top layer of pulled off, the poweder left underneath was matte. Just sand them with some 400 after you stripped all you could, and shoot them. Will look nice :D
