well, we started the swap today. got the hood off, whole wiring harness out of the way, upper intake off, electric fan off, exhaust out, driveshaft out, cooling system cleared out of the way, coolant reservoir out, alternator, starter, and some other things. tomorrow we are dropping the kmember down so we can get the top tranny bolts off and remove the tranny then we will lift the motor out.

we also got the tubular kmember out of the other cobra with the front coilovers too so that will be going in tomorrow if we have time. I am pretty nervous right now because we have a lot to do this week and i go back to school this weekend soooo.

wish us luck! just thought id update you guys where I was at right now.

umm no i didn't Jeff, unless your talking about the page where steveohs car is and all the other black stangs. I did see that one.

and to catch everyone up, (sorry, ive been really inactive lately, a lot of the vets probably only know).. but to catch everyone up, i have a fully forged 99 cobra motor with less than 10k miles on it (98 intake and heads) going into my 98 cobra. and then after thats installed, i have an S-trim vortech going on.

this is from your white car right? the one you bought from the speed shop, or guy that works at one, if i remember right??
If I'm on crack, let me know. Do you plan on swapping the black cars engine into the white one?

***UPDATE***

okay guys, well i just got in from the garage, motor is out, kmember is out, front suspension is out, brakes are out, tranny is out. everything is totally out of the car right now. tomorrow my dad and I are bolting up the tubular kmember and putting on the front coilover setup. we will also be swapping over everything off my black cars engine onto the new engine that needs to be swapped (oil filter housing, coolant crossover tube, intake, IMRCs, etc..). I am also going to get my spec stage 3 clutch and flywheel balanced hopefully. today was a busy day but tomorrow will be pretty busy as well.

all in all things look good. im hoping tomorrow i can get the other motor completed and ready to be dropped in by wednesday and i hope we can get the Kmember and coilovers setup correctly. I do have pictures of everything and will upload them, right now im kinda beat though. worked from 10am to 6pm on the car sooo.

to answer some questions, the new engine did come WITH a white 98 cobra (not out of it) and it is fully forged. i bought it from the owner of Lonestar Performance here in dallas. my BLACK cobras engine that we just took out will go straight into the white cobra and the fully forged 99 cobra motor will be going into my black cobra. after that, the vortech will be going on in the next few weeks when I get time on the weekend. (gotta go back up to UNT cause classes start monday)

haha B-ray idk. im swapping the 12/14lb pulley for an 8 lb to start and get a base tune. ill probably leave the 8lb on there for a bit to get used to the extra power. the 12/14lb (not sure what lb it is) will be on shortly after though im sure. haha

***UPDATE WITH PICS***

well, motor is complete, just have to pull out the old pilot bearing and put a new one in, put the flywheel and pressure plate on and lower the motor in. should be done by saturday i hope. my dad is working tomorrow and nobody is home so i wont be crawling under the car tomorrow alone. i got everything cleaned up though today and got the intake and IMRC's on. I ran into a problem last night, i guess the knock sensors on a 98 block are different from the 99 block so i ordered 2 new connectors for the wiring harness but they ordered the wrong part, plus they were 35.00 a piece so i just straight wired the knock sensors to the harness, no biggy. but, everything is close to done i believe. got the solid motor mounts mounted up, dipstick, intake, whole front timing chain cover with the power steering reservoir, tensioner, idler pulley, crank pulley (still needs to be torqued down), and coil packs. valve covers are on too. soo im pretty excited.

just gotta lower the motor in, mount tranny, do my longtubes, mount kmember, mount the motor, finish mounting AC compressor and power steering pump, finish up wiring harness, and drive the hell out of her! im sooooo excited!

oh and gotta run wiring for the wideband AF gauge anddddddddd b o o s t gauge. :headbang: :headbang: ill be whining soon ohh yeahh
