so as many...or...none of you know, my car has been giving me a hell of a lot of trouble the past 3 months
it runs great, then it cant hold a charge, then it blows a tranny, (month later) starts ticking, doesnt start. /fail :bs:

well, i've fixed the charge, new tranny, think the ticking is an exhaust leak, but it still wont start. GOOD NEWS narrowed it down to the...goo leaking MSD coil. okay, simple fix. (hopefully, i guess i will find out tomorrow.)

FINALLY, my questions (2) are as such:
the little spout on the oil filler neck extension thing just blows into the engine bay, i thought it was supposed to be routed into the hole in my intake pipe..does it have to or what?
secondly, theres a little white connector that goes into the block, right by the dizzy. someone has cut and capped off some wires around it..so i assume they originally went to it. what is this connector and do i have to have it connected, or did they cap it off for any particular reason or were they half retarded? (i've been told its the engine temp sensor, but my car has always seemed to be spot on temp with the 160thermo, and it responded heatwise to the weather [i drove it from palm springs cali, to SE iowa, so desert temps to mountain temps] or when i advanced or retarded timing)

DEFINENTLY going to be MUCH more cautious about eBay cars. (it looked and ran great! while i was with the seller :violent1: )

i seriously appreciate all the help this incredible forum has dished out so far, and want to thank ya'll for atleast taking the time to read this. :eek:ccasion14:

Need pics about second question. But the first question is no, its is basically a sort of factory style breather. If it bothers you, you can cap it off on both sides because the oil fill cap allows some air to pass through.

first Q? you can not remove that unless you remove pcv. it works togsether to vent the fumes out of your crankcase.
second if its on the left hand side of the distributor it is your coolant temp sensor. that is what your car uses to determine when your fans come on. adjust a/f and other crap. he might of switch to fox setup wich puts it on the left side next to sending unit i think.

so you can see what i was talking about :)

there is a little hole in the chromed section of pipe right next to the nipple on the filler neck, just cant see it here. the coolant temp sens wires are capped :(

since the tube was missing from the filler, i figured i'd see if the pcv was even intact. well....the one way valve works....but i think that tee....is pretty useless now.

EDIT: After digging deeper, the guy before really has hacked up the pcv system. i want to return it to a closed system, mostly for my peace of mind, but i cant find a stock routing diagram of any sort, either in manuals or online, i just know it goes from the valve to the intake, which he capped off, on both the underside and the drivers side. so i'm kind of at a loss. any help is appreciated.

does your fan come on. i doubt he swap over to the fox. your car will run like crap with out that sensor. pcv is an easy fix just get new hosesand a t it should hook up at the back off the intake and t off to a place under the intake. mine does anyway.

yeah, my twin electric fans work great, and...the car seems to run fine to me, but i could find any type of relocated sensors, just that unconnected one, and the one for the dash gauge.

yeah, i plan on doing the pcv monday, all the components are still there, just NOTHING is connected.

out of curiosity, while searching i found that the second nipple on the bottom side of the intake is for.....the purge regulator or something, right?...how bad is it that he capped that pipe off as well?

sucks the gas fumes from your charcoal canister. so you have after market fans. you still needs that sensor to adjust A/F , timing and egr according to the temp on the engine.
