errrr. smog pump dieing

it's making a helluva noise. Does anyone know the belt size to bypass it.
I have to leave it installed because I need to get sniffed every year.
Also looking for a fox smog pump elbow. I'm going to be switching over to a fox pump because it's cheaper.

Did you see the part where I have to get smog sniffed every year?
I think it would be easier If I just get a shorter belt and bypass the pump instead of pulling it all the way out.

FYI 90.5 was too long on my car and bottomed out the tensioner which made a nice knocking sound. I ended up with a 90" Goodyear gatorback belt. Fits perfect and put the tensioner right in the middle of its travel.

Not runing the smog pump.what the pros and cons

currently I have a o/r H so the smog pump isn't needed. yet
If you have cats you need the smog pump so the cats will work correctly.
If your luck enough to live in a state that doesn't get smogged tested, the pump (and the cats) can be removed thus cleaning up the enging bay and removing 1 more thing the engine is driving.

Live in Texas we do have to test. So when i change my headers and exhaust i have to leave the smog pump on or bypass it

some people will understand is a mustang. lol

FWIW, a pump that isn't used for a while can deteriorate quickly. It might sound like crap the next time a belt is put on it.

If you only use it occasionally, you can take it apart, clean and grease it. It's best to have a spare one on hand though because sometimes the mainshaft bearings seize to the mainshaft (the pump gets destroyed when you pull the rear cover off).
