I was just wondering if flowmaster 40's with an off road h-pipe would be as loud as my magnapacks with a catted x-pipe. I want to keep the over all loudness but I want to get a better tone.

I just had Super 40's put in my SLP system, with an offroad H. It's very deep toned now, and can get loud when I get on the pedal.

LOL, the Loudmouth's were almost ricey, loud and rumbley, but they had a rasp to them I never liked.

Yes. My SLP LM1s (pretty much the same as packs) and a catted X are just as loud as an O/R H and flows.

It must be something about my NonPI because my car has very little rasp, just a LOT of popping when downshifting.

I love the way my car sounds. FLowmaster cat back with BBK off road H pipe and chriome JBA shorties. Sounds reallll throaty, but really deep cuz of the headers. Flows+headers and no cats= :rockyou:

It will not be as loud.
I heard the Bassani X pipe with the Magnaflow Magnapack catback in person
before and it was loud plus it sounded great too! :thumb:

Power added I'd have to disagree. I can't think of an aftermarket performance muffler on the market that can't outflow/outperform a Flowmaster with all else being equal. They do sound good though, and the sound is worth the drop in power to most.

True, my dad has a 89 LX with a built motor in it and it is pushing 13:1 CR and has a 150 shot on it :) it sounds like audio sweaty sex :rockyou:

I'm a little over 10:1, plus 10 PSI :D I don't really care if I lost a minusculke amount of power, it actually feels slightly better down low, now that it doen't blatt like a sheep that is being sodomized by an angry bull....

i use that setup. i like it. its not too quiet yet loud when i nail it. i don't have tailpipes though, stock manifolds to bbk orh to muffler exits
