Due to the large amount of V8 explorers in the yards what is the opinion regarding using the heads and intake that have been run through the cash for clunkers process? I would think that the intake would be alright but the heads maybe not?

Both the intake manifold and Heads would be a good improvement over stock E7 heads and stock GT intake...
The standard GT40 heads (3 bars inprinted on the front and back of the head, GT40p has 4 bars) will save you
the hassle of trying to find exhaust headers to fit them (gt40p heads have a weird exhaust port). Although you will have
to remember, if you get the intake manifold from an explorer, you will either have to buy a elbow adapter, or convert to Fox
throttle body setup... If you can get them for cheap, it would be worth the upgrade.

I wouldn't be using heads that have been "lubricated" by liquid glass.

The intake has no moving parts, so I'd just clean the crap out of it to ensure there are no contaminants in it anywhere that could somehow find their way into the motor. For example, any solution trapped under the plate under the lower manifold that blocks oil splash from the PCV valve would be an area of concern.

definately make sure it is clean. these five liters didnt want to break. we had to use more engine seize in these than the others. other dealers said the same thing. show you that ford made them strong. didnt take much for us to lock the gm engines.
