ive always had a soft spot for capri's...merc man !

anyways I put back in 19lb injectors and the car ran fricking faster as FK...BUUUUT I still have no reverse and my gears ran out kinda long at WOT but no slipping so im just hoping for the best...god I hope its a cable or fluid change...

I looked into a t5 swap and im not gonna mess with the pedal install, from what I read its a p.i.t.a...soooo if my trans is toast I have some sht up for sale that iw as gonna use on eng mods but will be a good excuse for a better aod with a shift kit or built and maby a higher stall T.C...

but im leaning towards my TC because in park I cant rev it past 2k but when in gear she shifts ok but I shur as hell can hit wot then..but not in park..lol I keep things interesting...

IMO The T5 swap is worth it. I did one in a fox. I actually took a 4 cyl auto car and converted it to 5.0 manual. Yes the pedal install is a P.I.T.A. but realistically it's maybe 4 hrs of work between removing the driver seat and finding the nuts/bolts to hang the new pedals. I have had better luck with manuals lasting longer and they are way easier to work on/replace if you need to. And the T5 is lighter too.

not trying to be a dick frankenstang but i think you are getting ahead of your self. check your fluid level and smell it also look for metal shavings. drop the trans pan maybe the filter needs a change maybe the filter came loose. just start at the basics. a built trans cost a good chunk. i had a shop rebuild my 700r4 trans and it ran me 1300 only cause i knew the owners. just stick to the basics of troubleshooting.

thanks for the help and advice guys....this is a bummer, pure bummer....I did check my fluid levels and they were all good but the fluid did smell burnt you could say, and my pan underneath was HOOOT. the back of my hand found that out as I was fiddling with the shift linkage down there making shur it wasn't lose or broke, which its not but I do know that the I think its called T.V cable that connects to the Tbody had broke its retaining clip and fell off..The fluid was nice and red, woulda guess it was new ifnot the smell...

Cmon clogged filter from it sitting or shotty cable, plz o plz...ille happily drop the 200 to the shop to get her fixed and not tell me I need a trans or TC..lol burn out? yup ! burnt out my trans maby..hahaha the gt40 swap added so much power I destroyed the trans, lol if I lose one that would be the way id wanna, cuz then atleast I know my eng is a beat..

Honestly the pedal swap isn't hard and I can't see it being much worse in a cougar the best way to do it is do drop the column fox's are the harder cars to do it on the sn95 cars are really easy. Glad it picked up some with the 19's like the guys said could be fluid but when trannys are on the way out from what I've seen the R for race gear usually goes first atleast with my old th350's in my chebys as a youngster and the one the trans fluid would get so hot it would boil and blow my dipstick off that was awesome on nicely chromed out small block lol. Hope you get it figured out dude

Do you have a button on the shifter that allows you to turn off and on overdrive?

no, the center shifter has 1,D and then OD then N, R P .......no neutral or reverse....and still have not gotten a call back from the shop...

run my vin, shouldn't that tell the trans?
