Had some fun few days ago, and truck runs like a raped ape for just stock injectors with stage 2 nozzles! Even with canned tunes off the x3, can't wait till I get some custom tunes for this thing. Took about 5.5 hours from start to finish and man was it hot out today even in the damn shade! :headbang: :headbang:

he put bigger injectors in his 7.3 (right?) diesel. In a diesel, you stuff as much fuel as you can to gain power and up your boost level to compensate and cool the Exhaust Gas Temps....kinda reverse thinking with a gas motor. Bigger injectors mean more power. I bet she rolls coal now. I'm a cummins man but in all seriousness, a 7.3 is a stellar motor...those things will burn mud if you put it in the tank!

ahhh, just figured I would post up on the fun I had with the install and all. 7.3 is correct and for a stock truck with these injectors plus tuner I am looking at around ballpark gain of 160-180hp gain. I am just waiting on a tune for the time being but even on canned tunes she hauls ass compared to the stock injectors I pulled with 233,xxx on them.. lol

I love 7.3Ls. My dad has a 2000(?) F250 with it and he beats the living SHIT out of it on a daily basis and it's racked up nearly 300k miles with no major problems. It's never been in the shop for longer than a day and the only time it has been in there was for maintence things.

really depends on what you want, mine where stock premium rebuilds with stage 2 nozzles and paid around 1400 for mine plus my cores. But you can spend upwards of 2500 for some brand new stage 3 hybrids that will get you close to 500 plus hp with supporting mods.

I never understood this quote. You would rather be finshed and exhausted than having fun stroking it? I never saw the good about that quote, always seemed like an insult to dodges to me...


Side note, I work at a Ford dealer just as a 1st level apprentice so I don't do much "in depth" work, but the 7.3L is the best diesel Ford ever had, the 6.0L and 6.4L are always in the shop. The jury is still out on the new 6.7L, good so far, but I'd never put my self in the sadistic world of working on diesels, too big for me, I'm only 5'9 and 134lbs :S.

Owning a 7.3 as i did for 5 years


and working for Chrysler for the past 5 years I would take my 7.3 for the majority of those days. Now with the new generation of diesels, I cant say ANYTHING bad about the power of the 6.7 from Cummins. They have increadible power, reliability and now fairly good fuel mileage.
