So I brought my car in to get smogged last week, and they said that I failed because my oil filler cap was broken, and they couldn't find my EVAP stuff at all. :rant2:
Well I replaced my oil filler cap, and brought my car to someone with half of a brain to test it again.
Now they say that it failed because A)it has "bad" vacuum lines. Can't really doubt that, it's a 14 year old car. B) Fuel EVAP test failed. I just replaced my purge solenoid, and I just took off my fender to see my carbon canister, and yes, it is there. C) Ignition timing was off. Why the hell they care about my ignition timing is beyond me. It starts up, and it runs, I don't see what else they need.
So my theory is that the lines to the EVAP stuff are faulty, and therefore throwing off the rest of the stuff. (not the timing) Where else are there vacuum lines that I should replace before bringing it back for its third test?
Pictures would be helpful. Thanks guys.
