turbo cars are tons better with an auto. i'd be interested to see dyno results after just that swap.

I never knew your car was so built! Sounds like fun, auto's with a turbo and an older driver are fine by me lol

Well in your case, it probably won't make a big difference. Unless its a serious track car, IE American Iron racer, I'll agree and say it won't make a difference. Especially with it being built as well as it is. The auto will handle the power better then the stick will, thats for sure.

the dyno will be ATLEAST 5% lower, more than likely 10%, but the ET's at the track will also be lower if he can plant the power off the line.

a built auto eats a little more power than a manual, and the stall converter wont hurt numbers too much unless the run is done with it unlocked.

Yep yep. I think the overall combination is what its about for jeff. Not necessarily a ET chaser

Steven is right.

Got the alternator done, and got a new gauge.
2 weeks away, the tranny and rear end comes out... replacing bent axle spline, inspecting transmission play, and swapping my 373's for 355's to much torque hits at 3 K.
slowly but shirly!

It wasnt a choice, you only have 2 choices for shifting at 8600.... Face plated t5/tkoxxx ....The TKO would work but the cost of the conversion, plus the cost of rebuilding it ALL the time. was wayyy higher then the auto swap, converter and then the consistancy made it an easy choice

Well I should update this thread.

my car on the dyno was getting a knock in 1-2 shifts.
had my tranny guy come and check it out and he wanted to tear it down and check it out.

SO the car's at his shop and he removed the exhaust and all that stuff to pull the transmission.
tore down the transmission and checked all the tolerances.
it's perfect....

I'm just glad it wasn't me who said to pull that all apart.
further inspection shows that it's probably the exhaust that was hitting the tunnel durring hard shifts, they thought it was a knock.

While the car was apart, i got the trans cooler installed, temp sensor installed.
pulled bent axle from rear end and had them install a 355 ring.

once it's back together it's time for a retune and bump of the boost :tongue3:

stay tuned for pictures of my new shifter :bootyshake:
