Hey guys in my previous thread http://sn95forums.com/showthread.php?49304-Car-randomly-dies-while-its-running-perfectly. i was describing what my car was doing and after replacing everything that has to do with ignition i finally got around to what was really going on with the car. Turns out that its a bad fuel pump. So today i decided to buy a fuel pressure tester kit from advance and i hooked it up to the car while it was running, with the vac line off it was reading a stable 40 psi. After a while i could hear the fuel pump make a loud hizzing sound , it had to be loud if u can hear it from a few feet away with the car running, and my car is not that quiet at idle. So after being a while the fuel pressure suddently dropped to 20psi and the car started missing and it wanted to die, it would backfire like crazy if i gave it gas , the pressure slowly went down until it reached 10 psi and the car died. While this was going on i hooked up volt meter to the inertia switch cable to see if full power was reaching the pump and it had 12+ volts steady so it seems that power is reaching the pump. If i let it cool down the car will start and the pump does not make the hizzing sound , only does it when it has been working for some minutes.
