Well i took the stang in last monday to get the trac loc rebuilt and finally got it back tonight. It has been a major pain in the ass (which i figured it was going to be hence why i took it to my mechanic).
Monday he ordered the clutch pack for it and it didnt show up tuesday. It finally showed up wed and he went to take it apart and the passenger side c clip was being a bitch. The dealership had a tool to remove the c clip easily but they spent thursday and friday looking for it and couldnt find it ??? so he had to go out of town saturday and a buddy of his had made a tool to get it it so he picked it up. So then he got it tore apart monday. Tuesday i went there at noon and he had bad news. The spider gears and side gears were fucked up. The spiders had some gauges in them and one of the side gears were cracked. Now when i tore it apart i seen the groove on the cover i wondered if they had completely replaced it or just did the minimum to fix it (which they did). so he said he would have it back together and ready to roll tuesday afternoon. Well after further inspection the races were fucked up so he put in new bearings and then he went to put the pin back in it and realized the pin was mushroomed/swelled on the end and it wouldnt go back in. And of course ford usually keeps the pins in stock but of course they didnt have one and had to order one (i seen that coming the way shit was going.) Well i went there tonight and they finally got it put back together and she is all ready to go now.
If everything was trashed in the rear end i would have just said fuck it and put in all 31 spline parts and get some moser axles but it wasnt a total loss. It should hold up to what i do to it fine anyways.
And i also found out why the she was doing one wheel peels. the one side was wore out badly and the other side the clutches had basically welded themselves together. You couldnt get them apart.
So after putting some more $$ than i had expected i atleast know the rear end is in good shape now. She seems to be working now. I didnt give it a really good test but that will come tomorrow >
